Lesson Two - 3rd Years Empty Lesson Two - 3rd Years

Post by Guest Tue Jan 10, 2012 1:50 am

Miles walked into the Greenhouse and quickly checked that the plants were happy and healthy, he then made his way towards the solid wood table and sat down

He watched as the sun streamed through the glass, admiring it beauty, Miles then glanced over at the door to see if any third years had arrived yet

Miles saw a Gryffindor student enter the Greenhouse, she greeted him warmly and asked how his holidays were, Miles smiled back at the girl

" Yes my holidays were quite nice Miss Grayson, I really got stuck into de- gnoming the back garden" Miles then pulled out his wand and tapped a piece of chalk, it instanly began writing "Belbutter Plants" on the board

Miles then looked back towards Iris, " So I trust you had an enjoyable break"

Iris ran faster than she could ever have been after she realized that Herbology was her next subject. She missed it of course entirely. Once you've never started with a lesson during the beginning of your third year, that feeling is always possible. And she was glad that today, the chance is coming true. She took notice that perhaps the past professor have been gone again. And they're having a new one from now on. She heard that her favorite professor from History and Occlumency would be the one taking over. Another thing to look forward to.

Iris stopped from her tracks as she opened the greenhouse door and getting in. She sighed heavily after the long run and waved at her friend already present, still gasping for air, then smiled at the professor with a bow. She can only wonder what lesson would be up to for that day.

Anna walked into the greenhouse, feeling a little less confident this year round than last year. She greeted the Professor kindly, having, for some reason, the word mandrakes stuck in her head. She nodded at Grayson and went to sit next to Eye.

"De-gnoming the garden, huh? Sounds interesting." Iris commented with a grin. "My holidays were sort of boring since I was at Hogwarts itself," she admitted. She didn't want to go back to her foster parents and decided to spend the break here. She waved 'hi' at two of her friends and smiled at them.

"So, professor. What are we up to this day? I haven't been here for a while since last year. And that last lesson before the past professor . . . uh . . . disappeared."

Iris said with a little frown as she trailed off. Now where did that come from? The least he could do was to not think about it in the first place. But still, it slipped. There.

A Ravenclaw girl entered the Greenhouse, Miles greeted her with a warm smile " Hello, and welcome". Miles then looked over at Iris as she asked him what they would to studying to today

" Ah very eager Miss Frances, thats good to see" Miles said as he let a little laugh, " Well today we'll be learning about how to make a top quality fertilizer to speed up plant grow by using the ChinChin Fungi" Miles then looked down at his class list realizing they were only missing two students

Miles then turned to face the class " Ah guys do any of you know where Laedin Crouch or Isla Parkinson might be?”

Iris tilted her head on both sides happily, guessing that they're lesson would be awesome having a favorite professor around. And of course, with her friends.

"Uh. Not exactly, professor. Maybe they can still catch up, don't they?" She replied with a shrug as to what the teacher was asking. She had no idea. She barely knew those students at all.

Miles looked out the glass pannels to see if he could see that last two students, " Well we'll just have to start with out them"

Miles then got up and stood in front of his desk " Ok so class today we will be learning how to make a fetilizer from ChiChi Fungi, this fertilizer makes plants grown almost instantly, though of course the height and rate of how much the plant grows depends on how well you made the fetilizer" Miles then walked over to a trolley in the far room and tapped the the chopping boards which were on it, they then floated towards the students

As the the Chopping boards landed in front of each student, Miles walked around and gave them a bunch of ChiChi Fungi and a rolling pin " Now you must extract the juices from the ChiChi Fungi by pressing it out witht he rolling pin"

Miles then began walking around around the room watching the students start rolling, " Now remember I will be grading you at the end of the lesson, if you get stuck I'll help you as much as im allowed to"

Iris nodded diligently and began with her work. She looked down on the table and tried her best to have her stomach up to this activity. She sighed readily, taking the fungi and placing it on top of the board, then rolling the pin to extract the juices inside of it to be made into a fertilizer. It wasn't hard at all. Quite fun actually. And soon enough, she's going to be enjoying herself.

Iris took some of the fungi and rolled a pin inside of it. She had no clue if she was doing it right, but as she saw some of the juices seeping out of the fungi. Normally she'd find Herbology kind of boring but this lesson seemed to be interesting.

Miles walked around inspecting everybodys progess, they all seemed to be doing quite well " Ah class, once you have finished juicing the fungi I want you to place the juices in these bottles which I will give you, you then must tap the bottle with your wand then cast the freezing charm Immobulus, once you have all done that let me know"

Miles then walked over to the trolley where the bottles were kept and and tapped his wand on them, they all quickly floated over to the students and landed in front of them, Miles then leaned against his desk watching his students perform the task he had set

Iris collected the amount of juice she extracted and poured it all into the bottle. She took out her wand, tapped the bottle top and muttered, "Immobulus," and looked at it for a few seconds, wondering if she did it right.

Iris fixed the mess on her table with a cleaning charm she had muttered and picked out the bottle which the professor had given. She collected her own extracted juice of fungi and poured all the amount of liquid into the glass container. Satisfied with her own work, she capped the bottle back again and tapped her wand with a low murmur of the spell, "Immobulus." and seconds later the top of the glass became frozen.

The Slytherin nodded proudly and told to herself quite loudly so the professor can also hear, "All done."

Anna had been extracting all of the juice inside the fungi. She bottled the juice tightly with a cork and poured the contents into another glass container and closed it with a cap. Once she did so, she muttered, "Immobulus." The fungi then froze like it was supposed to, and she sighed. Never in her life was she going to take Herbology again.

Miles looked over and saw the Ravenclaw girl had completed the task, " Ah well done Miss Tshering, now use the Incendio Charm to melt the mixture then slowly pour it on the Shrub im about to give you"

Miles then walked behind his desk and pick up a small shrub and placed it in front of the Ravenclaw girl, "Ok so when your ready you can begin, you will be graded by how high the plant grows, the reaction will be almost instant" Miles then watched the girl as she performed the task
