Lesson one for first years

Serenity was sitting her seat, eating some candy. Unlike some other new teachers, she wasn't nervous. If the student misbehaved, it was really simple just to give them detention. If they don't like the class, oh well.

She smiled, and wrote on the board," I am Professor Henderson and plan on staying here for a while."

Storm walked into her second occlumency class. She'd enjoyed the first one, and hoped the next one would be just as good. She read what the new professor had written on the board, and smiled.
"Well, hello then Professor Henderson, who plans on staying here for a while."

She smiled at the student. "I do plan on. I have no reason not to plan." She laughed. "What is your name?" She asked. She waved a hand. "Sit anywhere you want."

Alyssa walked into the class, she hoped it would be fun, and she already knew a little about calming her mind, and things like that. Seeing whats written on the board, she laughed, and said hi to the professor and the other girl. Walking up to the other girl, she said, "Hi! My names Alyssa, but some of my friends at home call me either Padfoot, Padfoot Jr, PJ, or Lyssa. Sorry! I know its a lot! Whats your name? We have some classes together, and are in the same dorm do you wanna sit together?" Alyssa said hoping for the other girl to say yes.

Storm glanced at the professor.
"I'm Storm Everlee," she smiled, and turmed to the girl that came in. "Yeah, sure. I noticed we have classes together. I'm Storm."
She sat down at an empty desk, and smiled at Alyssa.

Alyssa was relieved to have someone to sit with, so she gratfully took a seat.
"thanks! I hope this class is fun! The teacher seems really funny."

"It is fun," Storm told Alyssa confidently. "Yeah, she does, doesn't she?"

Alyssa laughed and nodded.
"So what's your favorite class so far?"

"Oh, that's tough," Storm sighed. "I really enjoy all of them. I don't really know if I can choose. You?"

Alyssa didnt have to think about it, "Flying, definetly. My dad says I must have been born in the air!" She laughed, "So do you know anything about Occlumency?"

"Um, sort of," Storm muttered. "I know how to calm my mind, and some weak shield, not much really. You then?"

She smiled at the two girls. "Alright, stop chattering. Tell me what you know about Occlumency please." She asked them.

"Uh, well I know how to clear my mind and metitate, and a little theory about keeping someone out of your mind, and pushing them out. My sister had to learn to occlude her mind a little when we where younger. Doesnt it help with like, emotions and stuff?" Alyssa hadnt realized she had said so much at first, she hoped she didnt make a fool of herself, or get into trouble.

She nodded. "Five points to Hufflepuff. I am personally not sure about the emotions part, about what you meant. Do you mean it by hiding emotions, or controlling it?" She asked.

She turned to Storm. "What about you?" She asked.

"I don't know very much, bu I can clear my mind, and put up some walls so that they don't get in," Storm said. "I can distract whoever's trying to get in. I guess I can keep them out a little, but I don't know much about getting someone out when they're first in my mind." She'd really tried to find out, but she couldn't manage.

Alyssa waited untill Storm had finished talking, then she said, "Well, I guess like, controlling your own emotions while, for empathics, not letting others emotions in." then turning to Storm, "You can seriously do that? Woah! I only know theories! Thats cool!!" Alyssa was amazed, the only person she knew who knew that much at their age was her sister.

"I've only tried it," said Storm awkwardly. "And I'm probably not very good." She wasn't used to anyone saying nice stuff about her, so she didn't know how to handle it.
"I'm still not sure about the pushing people out bit, and thanks by the way."

"It's ok! Even if your not very good, it's still cool that you've tried!" Alyssa tried not to make things akward for her. But she thought it was cool that she'd tried!
