"I am a different type of Vampire. I was born like this." She said, her eyes going to his, then away, as if embarassed. "If I share blood with someone, this is what happens." She remembered the only other Vampire she'd done this with, but he was long dead. She looked back at him. "I can help you by loaning you my control when you feed." She said. "I will continue to do that, until you can control it yourself." She gently proded their connection with her mind, testing it, wondering if he could feel what she did.

And if we want. she thought directly to him. We can communicate through thought.

"I noticed that you are. So, I guess it's easier for you when you had your whole life to adjust to it", he told her, noticing that she looked away and wondering why she did so, trying to find any traces of her sudden behavior in their newborn connection, but nothing happened. His eyes widened as she explained what she's going to do, happiness appearing in them, before it was replaced by a note of skepticism. "You're doing too much for me. How could I ever repay you?"

"What are you doing?", he asked her, curiosity back in his voice. HOLY CRAP!, a mental note was sent to Karma.

Karma frowned. "I didn't have anyone to help me through it though. I had to figure everything out on my own."

"R...Repay me?" This was wrong. She should have thought of that first. "I... I guess..." She frowned. "How about you take me to stay with your coven for the summer?" She asked curiously. "You know more about being a Vampire than I do."

Just testing the connection. She thought with a mental giggle. Sorry.

"Karma Black, do you secretly run a charity that helps young vampires in trouble or do I smell traces of kindness in you?", he said, trying to break the awkwardness, before he repeated it through their connection, more gentle this time. "If that's so, I'll be happy to bring you home. My parents can't say anything against it because they owe me. Oh, hell, mom is going to be so happy. Dammit Karma."

Your giggles are tickling me, he told her, trying to giggle as well.

Karma smiled softly. "Don't tell anyone that, okay? I have a reputation to upkeep." She joked, only half serious. She started playing with his hair again.

Her eyes widened. "Is your mom being happy a bad thing?"

She giggled mentally again, watching him as she felt a small tickle in the side of her mind where she knew he was. Looks like this will be a fun summer, eh?

The boy put his right hand on the place where his heart is and swore to her, using their new connection to send the message, so it's more private and shows just how much he means it. "My mom being happy is a scary thing. She wont let me go when she's like that, she constantly bother us all. Mom will probably think you're my fiancee because I brought you home, but I really couldn't care less about what she thinks."

Again with the tickling!, he told her, smiling and teasing. Yes. Probably.

Karma smiled, reading his message loud and clear. Your fiancee? She thought curiously. But you're only a first year! She frowned. Oh wait, you're older, aren't you?

She bit her lip, her mind wandering in thoughts about maybe having a family for the summer. She'd never really had a family before... Her eyes swept the room as she thought, not knowing whether he could hear her thoughts or not. Her eyes returned to him, questioningly. How long have you been a Vampire?

He responded in the same manner as she did. Yes, my fiancee. She wants all of us, her biological children to get married with other vampires, hopefully different species, as she calls us. Mother is a kind of scientist, she wonders what kind of ungodly offspring would we bore. Like hell I'm gonna give her material for more research.and with a smile added. And you're not the type to settle down. At least not with just anyone so...

She acted like she's kicking him out of their link so he payed close attention to her face. Karma was thinking about something she didn't want to share with him, so he was not about to go fish for it. That's really not something I would like to talk about., he told her honestly, blocking out the memory of his turning.

Karma wrinkled her nose. A scientist? Drinking animals and scientists wanting ungodly children. Merlin help her. She was gonna argue with him, but then she realized what he was saying was completely true. She blushed. I... I guess...

Then we... won't talk about it. She said, noticing that one part of their connection went dark. He was blocking something from her. She was a bit wounded, but they had just begun this bond, and there would be plenty of time to get to know each other.

I'm sorry if it sounded wrong, he told her, almost blushing for his failure. What I wanted to say is that probably no man ever existing will be good enough for you, and you are also a wild spirit, you wont let yourself get tamed, wont you? Dimitri hoped he fixed it by saying more than he would usually do, letting out small parts of his mixed feeling towards her, and remembering J.J. at the same time, something stinging him in the stomach also.

As he realized that he did something wrong again, he looked her in the eyes, moving towards her so he could completely face her. Their hads were just a few inches away and he spoke it out loud.

"I don't remember much about it. What I do remember, is scary for me now, even after years have passed. I've been what I am for a long time."

Karma nodded, taking a deep breath. It's fine. She had forgotten how revealing this link was. So much for secrets.

"It's okay." She whispered. He was so cold. And so close to her. And...

She was suddenly standing across the room, a fake yawn on her lips. "Well, I'm tired. I think I'll be heading to bed..." She let some of her fatigue through the bond. She was tired, and she was blushing, and she needed to stop being such a whore. She was only going to help him. She was ONLY going to help him.

Her confusion slipped through the bond, but she hid the rest of it, a small wave and a flick of her hair and she was up in the Girl's Dorms.

"Hey, Karma, wait!", he yelled after her, but was too late because she was already up and on the way to her dorm room. "That went well", he said out loud. What did I do? I mean, maybe I came on to her or something, but I wasn't trying to., the boy's confusion was obvious. What the hell did I do?
