Family: Leslie was born to a muggle father and a magical mother. Her mother died in childbirth and thus her father despised magic only because he had thought that magic could've saved his wife, yet she used her magic to save her baby and not herself. Leslie wasn't abused persay, but she grew up neglected by her father who pretended she didn't exist. She grew up very independent.
Personal: Because of her family history, she prefers to teach herself and has come out as very intelligent from self-learning. She thinks before she speaks and can come off as shy, but as she gets to know you she is happy-go-lucky and loves comfort. She's a firm believer that a hug can go a long way.
