History: Henri was pretty much raised by his sister and his nanny, because his parents weren‘t around much. For the first 2 years of his life, his sister raised him single handed, she was only 9 years old when he was born, when his sister started attending Beauxbatons, his parents hired a nanny to look after him. His parents travelled a lot, and didn‘t fancy taking their kids with them. They only came home on special occasions, the kids’ birthdays, Christmas,. From the age of 7 to 15 he didn‘t see his parents at all, not even at Christmas. Inside of him grew bitterness and hatred for his parents, especially his father, for he never had a male influence in his life.
In the beginning of his fifth year at Beauxbatons his parents passed away, in a tragic accident. Henri never heard the details, but he was told it involved wild animals somewhere deep in some forest somewhere. At their funeral, he saw them for the first time in 8 years and for the last time. He didn’t really feel grief as they were put into the ground, seeing as he didn’t know them at all. But he could see how other people looked at him for the rest of the year. He had turned into the kid who had no parents and everyone felt sorry for. After that he felt the urge to prove himself, he didn’t want to be felt sorry for, and because of that, he got into many fights and detentions.
In his fifth year, after his parents died, he started dating Iréne, she was a year younger, but that didn’t disturb them. He loved her deeply, with her he felt whole, a feeling he had never felt in his life.
After Beauxbatons Henri moved to a flat with his girlfriend and was preparing to propose to her when she announced her pregnancy. Henri stayed with Iréne for the first couple of months but became overwhelmed and worried about not being a good father, so he left Iréne to raise the twins on her own.
Seven years later, he applied for a teaching position at Beauxbatons, not really expecting to get the job, seeing as his ex-girlfriend was the headmistress. But seeing as he was the only one to apply for the job, he got it. Iréne wasn’t too happy about it and put in his contract that if someone else would want the job, she had the full right to fire Henri and give the job to the other applicant.

The actual purpose of his apply for the teaching position was to get closer to his children, of course he wanted to teach, but what had pulled him were his kids and when he saw that there was an opening job at Beauxbatons, he jumped at the chance and applied.
