Lesson Four (First and Second Years)

It looked like it was going to get warmer, which was something pleasing for David, who was frozen solid as he entered his classroom that morning.

Flicking his wand to ignite the fire, he turned and stood by it in an attempt to warm up, before going to get the door for his first and second year class.

Casey skipped into Muggle studies, happy despite the cold. "Hello Professor!" she chirped brightly. "How are you this fine, frigid morning?" she asked, grinning.

"Hello, Miss Donohoe," David replied cheerfully. "I'm pretty good thank you, yourself?"

He turned to peer along the corridor. "Anyone turning up today, do you think?" he asked. "Or is this our sorry lot?" He smiled.

Casey grinned. "I'm fabulous, and I'm glad you're well."
She put her hands on her hips defiantly, though she couldn't help grinning. "I don't think we're such a sorry lot. We're pretty amazing, and anyone who says otherwise can talk to me!" She tried to keep a serious face, but ended up bursting out laughing instead.
