The Sorrow of the Night

Scala walked around The Secret Garden. It was nearing midnight and Scala was on duty. The Garden was blooming. She walked around and stumbled across some on sitting on a bench.

Artemis was still upset. It hadnt' been long that he received an owl saying that Phillie was dead. His Phille, the girl that he was sure that he would marry one day. They had owled the ring that he had given her. This wasn't supposed to happen like this. Artemis didn't know what to do anymore. He didn't know how he was going to go on without her.

He sat there sobbing over Phillie.

Scala walked closer and saw that Professor Capulet was crying. She went over and sat next to him. She looked at mand put a hand on his.

"Whats Wrong Professor Capulet?" Scala asked with concern.

Artemis was still crying. And he couldn't believe how the tears hadn't stopped. It was only recently that they made their relationship. Before she was found dead. And he didn't want to believe that this was true. She was only a child, well a teen. Phillie had her whole life ahead of her, and now she was gone.

“ She is dead, Phillie is gone.”

Scala's face fell. She pulled him close and hugged him.

"I'm so sorry for your loss Artemis." Scala said as she stroked his hair.

Artemis noticed that Scala was hugging him. At this point he really didn't care. Because he was upset over his loss of Phillie. And he just wanted the pain to go away. He wanted to be able to think that this was just a nightmare that he was going to wake up from.

“ It isn't your fault that she is dead.” He then noticed that she was stroking his hair. Which was making him feel a little bit calmer.

"I know. But if theres anything I can do for you i am always here Artemis." Scala said as she looked at his face. She got her hankerchief out and wiped his tears away.

"Its going to hurt for a while. But you will always remember her," Scala paused and touched his heart. "In here." She said to him.

Artemis was now sniffling. He really didn't expect anybody to come out here, and try to comfort him. Artemis noticed that she was wiping away his tears. He didn't know much about Scala, Artemis keep to himself while he was at school. All he did was teach his class and went back to his sleeping dorm.

“ But she is gone forever, I don't know how I am going to live. I always thought after she graduated from Durmstrang that we would get married. Now that will never become true.”

"Hey now! She would of wanted you to move on with your life. Yes you are going to be heart broken, but you will have to move on. Dont live her memory in vane. she wouldnt of wanted that." Scala said as she stroke his cheek.

Artemis was sighing. “ I seen myself having a happy life with Phillie. But now it will never happen. My sisters and brother seen that I was happy for the first time for a long time. And now it is like that never happened.”

“ I don't know if I can move on.” He then noticed that she started to stroke his cheeks.

"But she would of wanted you to move on Artemis. Youu will find someone else again. The world isnt over for you. Trusrt me,I hsve been in your sitation many times. Well you expect that because I am very old." Scala said with a sad smile.

Artemis sighed, he knew that Phillie would have wanted him to move on. That he was crying over nothing but that was the old Phillie. Not the one that he gave the ring to. He was holding the ring in his hand as he started to cry. “ I wish the world would be over, then it wouldn't hurt so bad.

When he looked at her, there was sadness in her own eyes as well. “ I am so sorry, I can tell that you are upset. And I shouldn't be talking about me.” He then smiled back at her, trying to make her feel better.

"No don't be like that. You need to cry Artemis. You have just lost someone you loved and cared for. The world isn't over for you. Trust me, I have been on this earth a very long time and I have seen everything." Scala said as she pushed a stray piece of hair out of his face. She wiped the tears awat still and smiled softly at him.

"The world has not ended because someones has. It will hurt foe a while. The pain will go away with time." Scala said as she looked at the full moon.

Artemis was still crying over Phillie. He was hurting bad, because he let himself fall in love with her. And in his mind her already had made plans for their future. “ Then why does it feel like it is over for me?” He then noticed that she pushed some hair away from his face and she also whipped his tears.

“ I wish it would have been me to die, because she had so much to live for.”

"Oh Artemis of course she had so much to live for and so do you! It feels over for you because you have just lost her. Look round you. The world changes for the good and bad. It will get better again for you honey. You are worth living." Scala took hold of him tightly and let him soak up her offered comfort. She started to whisper in his ear.

"you have a whole life ahead of you. Dont throw it away. Please!"

Artemis was still crying. “ I was going to ask her after her seventh year to marry me. Everything is going wrong in my life. Phillie is dead and I no longer talk to my brother and sister. I have to talk to Athena because she is taking my class.” He noticed that she was holding him tight and was comforting him. Because this was something that he needed.

“ My life isn't worth living for.”

"Come on Artemis. Like I have said before, Your life doesn't have to end because hers has. You still have family though that you can make amends with. You also have me now!" Scala said as she let go of him and stood up. She held out her hand to him.

"Come. Lets take a walk and a couple of deep breths," Scala said as she looked at him.

Artemis was still crying. “ But I want it to end right now so I don't have to feel the pain from losing her. I have nothing to do with Rhea or Theo, they pretend like I don't exist anymore.” He was a little confused when she said that he had her. But he then grabbed his hand.

“ I really don't feel up for a walk.”

" walking will do you some good Artemis. We will walk around and maybe get you a drink. " scala said to him

Artemis sighed as he looked at Scala. “ I really don't feel like it right now.”

Scala sighed at sat next to him again.

"We can sit out here all night Artemis. You need to go inside and get warm." Scala said with concern.

Artemis looked at Scala and started to sigh. He knew that she was only looking out for him. But he really didn't care at this point.

“ I would rather stay out here. It reminds me of Phillie when we are in the garden. And it was also the place where I gave her a ring.”

"Artemis snap out of it. She's gone and never coming back. Stop living in the past. I know its going to be really hard for you right now. I am 666 years old Artemis. I was turned into a vampire when I was 21. I was in love and the one who turned me killed my husband to be in front of my very own eyes. I miss him everyday, but I moved on. He would of want that for me and so would phillie, she would want you to move on!" Scala told his straight.
