Feeling a little lost

Mystic had decided that the best place for her to get away was the library, the only library she had been in was the one at her home and it was pretty small. When she walked into this library she was just amazed at all of the books that they had.

Mystic had been completely amazed at the library that she was not watching where she was going and walked right into someone, knocking herself to the ground.

Standing up Mystic brushed herself off a little. "Excuse me, I am really sorry."

Tessa stumbled back a little, but Ariel made sure that she didn't fall. She then blinked a little bit. She was glad that she had her dog with her. Or she was have fallen to the ground. How she wished that Afonka was with her.

“ Oh I am so sorry about that.”

Mystic looked at the girl a little strangely, why was she apologizing to her, Mystic was the one that ran into her.

"Excuse me, but why are you apologizing to me, it was I who ran into you." Mystic looked a little bewildered.

This was some of the problems that Mystic was having in this new world she was in, being raised by elves she didn't always understand everything that happened in what she would call the human world.

Tessa smiled. “Sorry it is a habit to say sorry. I know my boyfriend is trying to break me from doing that.

Ariel then started to bark. “ Oh I should introduce myself. I am Tessa Grey and my dog is Ariel. She helps me get to all of my classes.”

Mystic looked at her kind of strangely when she told her that the dog helped her out. Looking down at the dog, she seemed like a normal type of dog that she had read about. There were only cats at her house.

"How can a dog help you, I am so confused?" Mystical was truly confused, and over the last few days most of the time she felt so stupid.

Mystic sat on the floor and started to cry. She hated feeling stupid and she really hated her parents.

Tessa then seen that Mystic was cry and she sat on the floor next to her. She then wondered how much this girl knew about the world.

“ Ariel helps me see. I am blind and she helps me get around a lot better.”

Mystic looked at her even more confused, blind, as in she can't see.

Mystic started crying a little more. "I am so sorry, I thought I could do this, go to school and I have no idea how to talk to people let alone what goes on."

Mystic just buried her head in her lap.

"I was raised by the house elves, my parents didn't care as long as I was in their way."

Tessa sighed as she heard Mystic was crying. This made Tessa sad. “ I think you can do it, you haven't given yourself enough time. And I will help you out.”

“ I am blind so I know how you feel.”

She then sighed, Tessa felt sorry for this girl. “ I am so sorry.”

Mystic dried her eyes a looked at Tessa. "Why would you want to help me, no one helps me?"

Mystic was right, most people just make fun of her name and go on. But Mystic needed to make some friends if she was going to survive these school years.

Tessa smiled. “ I know what is like to be different. I am blind and most people don't like that.”

She smiled. “ Maybe we could be friends?”

Mystic looked at Tessa and tried to smile. "I don't know how to be friends with people. I mean I have talked to people but that's about how far I got."

Mystic sighed a little, "I am probably going to be hard work." Mystic looked at the floor

"So what is it like to be blind, I mean don't you have trouble getting around and things?" Mystic knew how hard it was to learn things and she wasn't blind and can see what she is doing wrong.

Tessa smiled. “ It really isn't that hard being friends with people. I mean I would love to be your friend, I know what it is like not to have that many. Maybe I can introduce you to my friends and my boyfriend?”

She was still smiling. “ Ah but hard work means a great reward in the end.”

“ I will say that it has been hard for me to get around. Got lost once but that is how I met my boyfriend. And then over the summer my aunt got me Ariel to help me get around better. She is my eyes for me.”

Mystic could not imagine that she could go from being all alone to having many friends, "But what if your friends don't like me, I don't know how to act around people. I usually watch the floor or my desk when I get around people."

Mystic was staring at the floor again, why did she always have to feel so dumb. "I guess I know a lot about things, so maybe I would have something to talk about, I just don't want to be a know it all."

Tessa smiled. " Trust me, I am sure they will like you. I know what it was like when I didn't know anybody or have any friends. I am sure they will like you."

She was still smiling. " Just act like yourself."

Mystic was not sure how to act like herself she had only talked to house elves and once in a blue moon her parents. When she got to go to the park she talked to the kids there sometimes.

"Well, I am shy and don't really know how to talk to people, but I suppose I could try. I just feel people are going to look at me like I am different." Mystic was really trying not to cry.

"How do you do it, at least you can't see the looks people give you."

Mystic wished she couldn't see the looks people gave her, especially when she is carrying on a conversation with one of the house elves.
