In the clouds

J. J. tossed the school broom between on hand and another as she waited for something to happen. The winter chill was getting to her and she was getting tired of waiting for the lesson to start. She was getting more and more restless.

After a moment she stopped and looked at the broom. Well if no one was here yet... it wasn't like anyone said she could use it...

After all she was practicing.

Looking over her shoulder, and smiling slightly to herself, she jumped onto the broom and kicked off, soaring into the air with a call of excitment.

As he watched his breath turn into mist, Chance walked down to the flying field. He was more excited than he could describe. Flying was his favorite lesson. He sped up his gait and arrived to the field, and saw the girl from his other lessons up in the air already. He chuckled and stayed where he was, not wanting to fly just yet and risk losing points for Gryffindor.

He rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet, more than ready to start. He pulled his robe tighter around him in an attempt to keep the warmth inside of him.

J. J. let out a little laugh as she soared through the air. Flying really was the... most magical thing she could think of doing. She had no idea why she hadn't spent more time on this before.

She looked down at the ground and was startled seeing a figure on the ground, panicked that it might be the professor, the girl flumbled in her flying and slipped right off her broom. Falling to the ground with a painful thud.

Chance jumped in astonishment as the girl crashed to the ground in front of him. He ran forward and crouched down, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, are you alright?!" He asked, glancing around to see if there was a Professor nearby. Not seeing one, he turned back to her, impatiently shaking her lightly.

J. J. groaned for a moment.

"Well that wasn't my smartest idea," she mumbled to herself. She blinked at the boy who had come over. He was in some of her other classes... she thought she might have known his name, at one point, but now....

Merlin her head hurt.

"Uh, yeah, I'm just-just peachy," she said attempting to sit up, only to groan again as everything started to spin. "Who's moving the flying feild?"

Chance sat back when she opened her eyes. He nervously ran a hand through his hair as she spoke. When she groaned, he placed his hand on her shoulder again, gently pushing her back into a laying position.

"I think we should go to the hospital wing... You hit your head pretty hard," He said, once again looking around, searching for a Professor.

"See if you can stand up, but go slowly. If not, I guess I'll just carry you there..." He trailed off, looking awkward.

J. J. shook her head only to groan some more.

"No-no Hospital Wing," she said blinking and slowly pulling herself up to a sitting postion. "I'm fine, just Fine... nothing-nothing..."

Her eyes widened as she felt a sudden and quick -

"Oh god-" She turned away from the boy and threw up her breakfast. She closed her eyes. "That's embarrassing."

She shook her head, and turned to blink at the boy. Her mind had gone blank.

"Where did you come from? What happened?"

Alex walked onto the field ready to fly. Alex saw J.J and someone else she didn't no. Alex walked over. "Hey J.J and hey, I'm Alex Gilbert" Alex held out her hand for him to shake. Alex felt the nice breeze and smiled.

Chance looked at her, worry clouding his gaze. "Are you sure? You don't look too g--" He was cut off by her throwing up, and he grimaced slightly. He stared at her for a moment, and a sigh escaped his mouth.

Without answering her question, he scooped her up in his arms and started to walk away from the Flying Field, towards the Hospital Wing. He barely registered the other girl talking to him, and he just gave her a slight nod of his head as he walked by, as if what he was doing was a casual, everyday thing.
