Ashleen had full confidence, as she sat in her chair, feet on the table, flicking her pocket blade around in her hand, that she could handle this class. After all, her father had been drilling her in such things since she was six.

But at least it was something to do. Hanging her head, letting her ponytail dangle over her chair, she stared at the ceiling, her brain checking out as her hands continued to play with the simple weapon she figured she probably wasn't supposed to have on her but didn't really care.
