Personality: Paloma is usually very friendly, nice, sweet and caring. She wouldn't call herself outgoing, though, as she is shy , but polite, to those she doesn't know very well, and in her first years used to be very socially awkward because of her constant studying. Her parents put a lot of pressure on her to be the best, to be perfect, and, not wanting to disappoint them, she tries her hardest, is very smart and does well in all her classes.

She doesn't have that much confidence in herself, but never lets others bring her down. She will give you many chances, but hates people who think they can use her and throw her around. If you're a bitch to her, she'll be a bitch right back at you. Ambitious and determined, she fights for what she believes in and can be a bit stubborn at times.

Loyal to those she loves, Paloma is forgiving and gets along well with most people, but she doesn't have a best friend or someone she can trusts completely, and that is something she misses sometimes. She adores sports, as it's something that calms her down no matter what. She has some trouble letting lose and just having fun, but she is trying to change that.

Overall history: The Poots', along with the Greengrass', are a pureblood family, originally from England. Like most pureblood families, they were big on blood purity, but that ended after Voldemort's fall. Most of the Poots' have even studied at Muggle schools before starting at wizarding schools, but, while they don't mind Muggles, they still think they're above them. Her mother, Katherine, and her father, Daniel, met in their Hogwarts years, though they only started dating after both of them were working for the Ministry. Her father works in the Department of International Magical Cooperation, while her mother retired during Paloma's 2nd year to be closer to the kids. When the Head of the Daniel's Department offered him a job in Germany, he couldn't refuse. It was a chance to do work on more important things, and to perhaps be considered for the position of Head when his boss retired in a few years.

Paloma spent her whole childhood in England, and went to a Muggle school until she started Durmstrang, even though she was a pureblood, because her parents wanted her to be a knowledgeable person and they didn't have time to teach her. She had a happy childhood, with lots of friends and fun times. When Paloma moved to Germany, she was about to begin her 1st year at Hogwarts. Her father had her transfered to Durmstrang, much to her dismay. Her older sister, Alice, was already a Hogwarts student and told amazing stories about Hogwarts to Paloma. She had always dreamed of studying there, and thought Durmstrang would be awful.

First year was a big change for Paloma. Her sister had stayed at a friend's house and continued at Hogwarts, so she was completely alone. Plus, her parents changed completely. She had never understood why Alice always had a nose stuck in a book before that year. Her parents put a pressure on her to be the best, to be perfect, and so she studied a lot, and, as a consequence, didn't have many friends.

After first year, things started getting worse. Her sister was tired of following her parent's wishes and decided to do whatever she wanted, and there was big fight between them. If she thought first year was bad, second was worse, as, with Alice's 'rebellion' - it was what they called it - they put even more pressure on the girl. The worse part? Paloma actually agreed with them and didn't feel bothered at all. But in third year, she started getting sick of it. She wanted to have more fun, she wanted to meet new people, and not follow her parents' orders all the time, though she was still scared of disappointing her parents like her sister did.

In the beginning of fifth year, she told herself she'd put a stop to it. It wasn't exactly what happened. After not getting the prefect badge, her own confidence was shaken and she had tried hard to prove, once and for all, that she was worthy of being a Poots. But she had failed and, after a big fight with her mother during the summer, was kicked out of the house. Now, she lives with her sister in the UK, just for the summer.
