Blather (Dermot/Aurie) OPEN

Aurelie walked into the lake. It was a clear, pristine, day that made her smile. She opened her book and started reading it.

Very soon, she got bored.

Dermot wandered down to the lake out of curiosity more than anything. He was quite intrigued by the tales of the Giant Squid, but he kept his sneer on his face.
When he arrived there, he spotted a girl, slightly older than himself, already sat there.
"Hello," he said carefully. "All on your own, are you?"

Aurelie whirled around and smiled at the unfamiliar and yet familiar boy. "Yeah," she said. "Just sitting here. I'm Aurelie. You're...."

"Dermot," he introduced himself, and offered his hand to shake. "Mind if I join you?"

"Oh, no, not at all," Aurelie said, smiling. "Hi Dermot. Are you new to Hogwarts? What year?"

"First," he told her, seating himself next to her and looking out over the lake. "And I'm in Slytherin," he told her, although he couldn't see how it mattered particularly. "Have you ever seen the Giant Squid?" he asked her interestedly.

"Well...once..." Aurelie said thoughtfully, tilting her head. "It was funny. All tentacled and suckered. I'm in Hufflepuff, Second Year. Do you like Hogwarts so far?"

He smiled. He had predicted being asked this. "I guess it's... plausible. I didn't know too much about it, after all, my father is... uh... not around, and my mother was educated at Beauxbatons. But it's good." He grinned. "I don't know why I'm telling you this."

"I'm the kind of person that people want to open up to," Aurelie mock-flattered herself. "Nah, i'm the curious type. Plausible. I don't even use that word!" She smiled at the boy.

Dermot laughed. "I don't usually either," he said with a grin. "Except for just then, it seemed the right description." He leant back in the grass. "Hufflepuff, huh? What's that like?"

Aurelie shrugged. "Hufflepuff, I guess," she said with a faint trace of a grin. "How's Slytherin? What's it like?'
