"It's probably the ass theory," Afonka huffed under his breath, sighing softly.

There was no way in hell that Feliks acted the way he did because he was trying to make him better in some weird twisted way. He was like that to everyone, not just him.

"There are just - monsters out there."

Ashleen grimanced, "There certianly is Brown Eyes; there certainly is." That was one thing she had managed to learn at a very young age.

Perhaps that was why she wasn't very good at being nice.

"So. what are you doing out here by your lonesome? Getting into trouble?"

Sighing softly and wishing that the world was only made up of good people, Afonka glanced over at Heaven. If only.

Lips curling into a little smile, he shook his head, "I haven't spent a lot of time outside over the winter, so I'm making up for it now. What about you?"

"I suppose I'm doing the same," she siad with a shrug and then grinned down at Heaven, "This lump of fur wouldn't let me lazy around anymore, would yeah gir?"

She rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"No, really.... I just needed a run; clears the head and such."

"Clear your head of what?" Afonka asked curiously, before almost instantly biting his lip and turning away.

"I mean - I don't really know you, so you don't have to tell me, but - well, you know." Shrugging awkwardly, he snuck a little glance back in her direction.

She laughed a bit again, and shook her head.

"Doesn't everyone need to clear their heads once in a while? I mean we can't go thinking all the time and never clean them. It must get awfully cluttered up in there if one didn't take a moment to clear it."

She was being intentionally vague, but she wasn't necissarily lying. She did truely believe this logic.

Laughing, Afonka couldn't help but grin up at her. That was actually a pretty cool way of thinking about it. Mentally bookmarking the quote for future reference, he hummed softly to himself.

"I wonder - how much can your brain take? Because eventually, doesn't - shouldn't it get all tired and full like the rest of you? How much thinking and not clearing would it take to fill out a brain?" Afonka mused, more to himself than anything else.

"I think my brains getting old," she said with a tiny laugh that was leaning towards the bitter side. "I sure don't think it can take much before I feel the need to empty it out again."

    She shrugged.

Then again, she had also never been a very patient person. So maybe she just never had the patience to deal with too much clutter in her head.

Brow furrowing slightly, he tilted his head at her, "But you're brain can't be that old. It's the same age as the rest of you. And you - you're not old."

Shaking his head, Afonka said softly, "Not old at all."

Ashleen shrugged, "I suppose physically my brains not very old but... maybe if you do a lot of things in your life your brain just.... decides to age on you, with no warning."

She began to play with her hair, "Then again, I also act so immature sometimes its not even funny. I don't think my brain is capable of making up its mind."

Kicking softly at the ground, he looked at her curiously, "What sort of things have you done?" Realizing how prying his question was, he bit his lip, blushing softly.

"If - that is - you don't mind me asking."

Blinking up at her, Afonka shook his head, "I don't think you're immature."

Ashleen looked up at him sharply for a moment before shrugging and looking at her feet trying to sound blaisé, "Oh you know... this and that. Nothing too exciting, really I suppose just..."

She bit her lip and looked back up at the boy. She couldn't telll him about the Mafia, not to an outsider. She could follow at the very least that rule but... now that the question had been asked well....

    She suddenly wanted to speak.

"My mom and brother died in a car crash when I was five; I was in the car... only one to survive..." she shrugged as if this wasn't a big deal.

Looking up at Ashleen, Afonka waited patiently for her to finish. He wasn't about to make her say any more than she wanted. He knew better than most people that there were things that strangers didn't need to know.

Eyes widening at her response, he bit his lip, glancing down. "I - I - I'm sorry." he said softly, looking up at her from under his bangs, "Really, I - I am."

Ashleen shrugged, "Don't be - wasn't your fault was it?"

She raised an eyebrow and gave a little smirk. She had never been good with other people's sympathies.

Perhaps she was just too use to keeping things to herself, to let other people in so easily.

"Now, enough of this depressing talk, I know Heaven wants to continue running, and I'm tired of standing," she raised an eyebrow at the boy, "Race you back to the port?"

She didn't even wait for the boys responce, but in usual Ashleen style, took off before he had given a responce.
