Dark Arts. It was one of the more interesting classes, by Kendera's estimation. The class just covered so very much. Potions and Standard Spellcraft were still her favorite - she was a natural at both - but the girl couldn't help but be a bit fascinated by Dark Arts. Perhaps, it was due in part to her upbringing, or maybe there was a part of her that was drawn to such magics. Kendera wasn't sure.

Entering the classroom, Kendera took a seat near the front, as was her habit, and pulled out her textbook. Now, she need only wait for class to begin.

Quil skipped into the classroom, rather enjoying himself. So far it has been a good day. Though do to the boys natural disposition he wasn't prone to having many bad days. It just took way too much to actually tick him off.

Of course, once Quil had fallen into a temper, he was rather bad at pulling himself out of it.

Still, nothing one could do about it. And it did not matter, for right now, he was still in his usual sunny mood.

"Well Helllo Kendera," he grinned impishly as he took a seat. "It has been a while since we have chatted. Has my Russian improved?"

He laughed a little to himself, he didn't even care for whatever answer the girl was going to give him.

Kendera looked at the boy, her expression neutral. She simply wasn't sure how to feel about the Uchitel. The boy was... cheery and talkative, and Kendera was quite certain he hadn't a serious bone in his body. In Kendera James' world, Aquila Turrow made little if any sense at all.

"As much as you like to talk, it would be impossible for it not to improve," she replied. That was rude. Merlin, that wasn't even what she meant to say. Even she realized how rude that was. Was she always rude?

Rather than apologize, she simply straightened - a bit awkwardly - in her seat. "I see you haven't fallen out of any more windows."

    ... that was rude, too.

    Kendera gave up.

Rose slipped into the classroom without barely acknowledging anyone of the occupants in the room. Not even uttering a short hello to them. She situated herself near the back of the class near a window where she could look out from. She sighed and started drumming her fingers as she looked out, her hair making a curtain shielding her face from the others to see.

Aquila gave a laugh, despite the fact that both the girls comments had been less than kind, he was amused by both of them. Honestly, it really did take alot ot offend the yonger Turrow boy.

"Well then I suppose I have something to be proud of," he said with a laugh, "After all, they do say practice makes perfect, and I certainly do practice."

"No! I haven't!" he gave a wide grin, "though if we're being technically, I never fell out of the first one either. I got stuck in it. Nia had to pull me out... boy was she unamused."

He laughed a bit at the memory and turned to wave at Rose as she walked in, frowning as he saw her being so quiet.

Sacha briskly made his way into the classroom. "Horcruxes," he said, the word appearing on the board as he spoke it. He stopped at the head of the room to turn and face his students, gaze resting momentarily on each of them.

"Who can tell me about Horcruxes?" Sacha raised a brow. "Anyone?"

"A Horcrux is a powerful object in which a Dark wizard or witch has hidden a fragment of his or her soul for the purpose of attaining immortality." Rose said her gaze never leaving the window and her hair still curtaining her face. "Creating one Horcrux gives one the ability to resurrect oneself if the body is destroyed; the more horcruxes one creates, the closer one is to true immortality. Creating multiple Horcruxes is suggested to be costly to the creator, by both diminishing their humanity and even physically disfiguring them." She added then sighed "One of the examples is Lord Voldemort himself."

If Rose's hair wasn't covering her face one would see well nothing.. Only an expressionless mask.

Quil looked up as the Professor walked in. He had been going to give some sort of answer but Rose beat him to it.

However, one did not get to be Aquila Turrow without finding a way to put their two cents in.

"I think the costly might also count in making them completely loony," he raised his hand before speaking, "Of course, that is more personal opinion here, than actual fact."

"It's not entirely personal opinion," Kendera contradicted Aquila. "Lord Voldemort's transformation was not just physical, but mental, as well. As a youth, Tom Riddle was considered very handsome. He was also highly intelligent and charismatic. He didn't display signs of insanity until later in his life, after he had already split at least a few pieces of his soul off to make Horcruxes."

"All good and valid points," Sacha said approvingly. "Five points, each.

"As was mentioned in a previous class, Horcruxes are considered to be in each of the three primary categories of dark objects," the man lectured. "They are items of dark purpose, always cursed, and always constructed through use of dark magic.

"Now, it is rather apparent how a Horcrux fits into the first category - a Horcrux cannot be created without its maker performing some soul-rending act. One of the most effective of such acts, for the purpose of splitting one's soul to create a Horcrux, is committing murder. It is equally obvious, I should think, why Horcruxes belong to the last group, as they cannot be made except through the use of dark magic. But how is the second expressed?"

Sacha's gaze rested on each of them in turn. "If a Horcrux is always cursed, what is the curse of a Horcrux? Is it always the same for each Horcrux? How do you suppose Horcruxes become cursed? Do they start out that way, or it something that occurs over time?"

Mystic was late once again to class and she new she would be in trouble once again. The rate she was going she would have detention until the last day of school and even into next year.

Walking into the class she tried to be as quiet as she could especially since she noticed that the class was already way underway and they were discussing Horcrux's.

Dart arts was something she did know about even if she did hate the ideas, Listening to the Lehrer questions Mystic was a little confused on them.

"Lehrer Rusnak, I always thought that a Horcrux was not always cursed until it becomes a Horcrux? Any common everyday item can be turned into one."

"The usual ten points for your tardiness, Miss Dream," Sacha said. "And you are correct, a Horcrux is not cursed before being made into a Horcrux. But is it cursed from the moment it is made into a Horcrux; is that somehow part of the process of making a Horcrux?"

Mystic sighed at the point loss but she knew that it was her fault and she would have to try next year and not be late for classes.

Mystic was glad though that the answer she gave was the correct answer. Looking around the class a little she wondered where the lesson would go from here.
