    Durmstrang
    Fifth Year

    "Brock!"

    The young girl's shrill voice rang across the room, no one really noticed however, yelling and repremained was something that young Kallie Nikkala did so often that none of her classmates bothered to look up when she did so. Most of them didn't bother looking up unless her wraith was turned on them. And even then only half of them bothered to listen.

    It didn't really bother the girl though; she didn't let such things bother her. Or at least she tried to. If she wasn't in control then...

    She shook her head, her long main of blonde hair which she could never managed to tame flying about her head as she did so.

    "Brock!" she continued to yell as she charged after the boy, "Don't think you can get away that easily!"

    Brock had to hide the smirk as he helped both Uchitels and the Slushatel out of the common room, most of the kids in his house paying no further attention rather than to shoot him a wink or thumbs up. Most of them knew he usually had at least four girls in his room at once so many weren't surprised. Some even seemed a bit... underwhelmed.

    What did they want from him? His wolf had needed...

    He winced as the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. It was almost time...

    He slipped out after the girls, offering each a kiss on the hand - except the redhead, she got a smooch - and then was gone.

    He burst out onto the grounds, picking up speed as he neared the forest. The sound of Nikki's screams were nothing new, and nothing he could deal with, not now. She would probably stop. Maybe. Probably.

    ...Probably not, if he was being honest with himself.

    As the moon rose through the clouds, he had no choice but to lie - it made him feel better to lie. Maybe she wouldn't.... wouldn't see...

    He cried out in pain as the change started to take over him, falling to his knees. He glanced over his shoulder, but before he could make sure she wasn't-wasn't...

    His back arched painfully, a loud cracking sound filling the air as it realigned, each joint ripping apart before reconstructing itself. His shoulders rippled down his spine, his neck lengthening as his ears moved to the top of his head. His shirt had ripped, and a short layer of soft white fur had sprouted across his body.

    A whine was pulled from him as the change paused, his breathing coming in hard pants as his skull stretched and grew to give him a snout, his skin rippling over his body. He cried out as his knees jolted backwards, cracking and resetting themselves in the opposite direction. His fingers fused together as his dark brown hair turned white, his ears going pointed. His clothes had piled to the ground behind him, even as his tail burst from the bottom of his spine. He squeezed his eyes shut against it, against the pain that didn't get any easier per change. His fur lengthened until it was thick, and his teeth sharpened and lengthened into fangs.

    Then it was over.

    Brock stood on all fours, panting, his breath causing mist to rise from his mouth. He lifted his paws, doing a self check before letting his tongue lull out, quite satisfied that the change had gone the way it had. It had happened much quicker this time.

    He threw back his head and howled at the bit of moon he could see through the leaves, the sound loud and happy. He cut off abruptly as a scent reached his nose, both familiar and delicious. He turned toward it, his bright red eyes stopping on the girl.

    Nikki! he tried to say, but only ended up letting out a short bark. His tail wagged, and his tongue lulled out of his mouth again.

    The young girls nostrals flaired as she stompt out of the building after him. Honestly did he think that if he just kept running she'd stop? How immature could he get? Before this moment she hadn't thought it was possibly for him to get more so but now...

    "Brock!" her pace increased she spied him going to the woods. Honestly. "You know we aren't supposed to be-"

    Her yells broke off rather suddenly as she crossed into the forsest, and a new sound reach her ears. One that was-

    "Brock!" this time her call held a note of panic rather than exasperation as his pain reached her ears. This is what he got for going into the forest, the idiot. Anything could happen in here. He probably...

    "voi hyvä jumala," she breathed, her eyes widening as she caught sight of him... or at least she thought it was....

    The young girl was torn; she wanted to rush forward, but her practical side - which was always in control - thought better of it. There was nothing that she could do to help, and in fact the way he was flailing about she would probably just...

    Eyes wide, and face rather pale, the brease blowing her hair away from her face, Kallie hid in the leaves, leaning on a tree to keep herself up right as she watched her friend, best friend.... only friend really turn-turn...

    "ihmissusi."

    She froze as the large white wolf came towards her, her breath even seemed to be caught in her throught. Every part of her was frozen as she struggled to keep control. Even if she had seen it with her very own eyes she couldn't believe that, that this was-was...

    Brock barked at his name, his tail thumping against the snow. She recognized him! Slowly, he lowered himself to a position where he was lying down and inched closer to her, his nose twitching as he sniffed the air. When he rose to his feet again, just before her, he came to about her sternum, and poked her in the stomach with his nose, just as he had with his finger a thousand times. He nipped at her shirt, tugging it forward playfully, his tail still going. The message was the same as any he'd ever given her.

    Lighten up, will you?

    His ears swiveled around, listening to the different sounds of the forest, though his eyes stayed on the girl.

    When she showed no signs of relaxing - not that she ever really did - he did the most Brock-like thing possible.

    He took her skirt between his teeth, yanked, and stole it from her. He bolted away, stopping about six feet from her, his tail wagging impishly as he placed the ripped piece of clothing on the ground between his paws. He leapt from one side to the next, his movements playful as he watched her. He barked again, lowering his head as if to pick up the skirt again, his eyes watching her with chagrin.

    Kallie blinked, finally letting out a slight breath as he crept closer to her. Her gaze was guarded. Some how knowing this wolf wasn't anywolf but Brock....

    Really didn't make her feel that much more comforted. It just meant she was in... a different kind of danger.

    Which she promptly found herself in as she found herself standing in the woods with nothing on her legs but her tights.

    "Brock!" she yelled her voice going sharp as she glared after the boy-turned-wolf, and swore rather loudly in Finnish as she was apt to do when she was upset. Her brown eyes narrowed sharply.

    "I'm going to kill you."

    The young wolf picked up her skirt again as she called out, trotting over to her and offering it up, before bolting away before she could grab it and returning to the exact same spot from before. He placed it back on the ground, nuzzling it with his nose as he sniffed it, before sneezing and shaking his fur out. It smelled weird.

    Brock's tongue lulled out and he stepped over her skirt, lying on top of it with a thump. As she threatened him, his jaws opened in a long, wolfish yawn.

    What else is new?

    He cocked his head to the side as he looked at her, his tail starting to wag again. He barked once more, an invitation.

    Kallie grabbed at the skirt only to stumble as he ran away again. She let her breath out through her nose, her eyes narrowing more.

    And here she had thought the boy couldn't get anymore immature. Of course he wasn't a boy right now...

    He was a pain in her ass.

    What else was new?

    "You think you're just-" she shook her head, nostrils flairing, "You little pentu!"

    Letting out a small little sound that was very close to a growl - though the girl would never admit it - she lunged across the space towards the wolf.

    Brock's tail wagged doubletime as he watched her lunge toward him, a wolfish grin - or the closet he could get to one - spreading across his snout. Then he was in motion, moving faster than her, and pouncing, tackling her into the snow and lying across her stomach. He kept most of his weight off her, turning his head as he made sure her arms were pinned beneath him. He sniffed at her face, his wet dog nose brushing over her skin before he licked at her temple, his tail beginning to wag again.

    Kallie tried to squirm way from his face, wrinkling her nose as he linked her.

    "Herrani, älä nuole minua," she tried to move her hands, to wipe of her face, only to be found stuck below him, "olet todennäköisesti tartunnan."

    She fidgeted a bit more, before huffing. He was too big. A frown marred her face as she looked up at him.

    "Move it, pentu! I'm cold."

    Brock snorted, nuzzling her until she sat up. He curled around her, his body at her back and his flank boxing her in, keeping her warm with his fur as he rested his massive head in her lap. He looked up at her with one big red eye, his look pleading. Now that she was here... well...

    It terrified him that she may leave.

    His tail wagged again and his tongue lulled out once more as he relaxed around the girl, letting out a soft bark and closing his eyes. A low sound - almost a purr - rumbled up from his chest, and he pressed his nose against one of her hands, both of which were now freed. She wouldn't be able to move away from him, anyway.

    Kallie squeak just a bit as she found herself wraped up in his fur, caught trapped by his large body.

    She frowned for a moment before rolling her eyes and leaning against him. She couldn't very well say she was cold anymore. Her new position certainly seemed to end that.

    "You're such a *luuseri," she muttered exasperatedly, but not without some fondness as her fingers found the fur behind his ears. She sat there quietly for a long moment. Not entirely sure what else there was to say. It wasn't like he could talk back.

    "It must be lonely out here," she said softly afer a moment, "All night."

    She found herself snuggling deeper into his fur. It really was quite comfortable.

    "Pium, paum! kehto heilahtaa," she humed softly under her breath, and old lulluby her mother use to sing in her more.... lucid moments, coming back to her. "kun lapsi viattomana nukahtaa."

    Brock nipped at her slightly - careful to keep his teeth far from actually touching her - before settling down and relaxing into her ministrations. A small whine of sadness, perhaps an agreement, perhaps not, followed her words as he closed his eyes, nuzzling closer to her.

    She was right, of course. Volchonka was always right.

    He let out a long, wolfish yawn as she began her lullaby, lifting his head slightly and flashing his lengthened K-9s before snapping his mouth shut and resting back on her lap again. Without realizing it, his ears had swiveled toward the forest before them. He didn't really know what he was hearing yet, just the slightest sound... but his body tensed instinctively, and he was prepared to run.

    He just wasn't sure why yet.

    Kallie sighed, surprising herself by feeling rather... content about where she was at the moment. Something she had never thought she would be doing - she had never thought she'd be spending time with any werewolves, let alone....

    Well, cuddling one.

    "Pium, paum! onni häilyää," she continued to hum her song, progressing to the close of the tune, completely unaware of the things around her, creatures and such she couldn't hear. "se luopi valoa-"

    She stopped off aburptly as she felt him tense. A frown marred her face as she looked down at the wolf and then around them.

    "What is it? Brock," she frowned her voice more or less level. Only a slightest hint of worry seeping through. "Is everything... Brock?"

    Brock had bared his teeth toward the shadows, moving himself around his Volchonka until he was standing over her, red eyes gleaming in the darkness, reflecting in the moonlight. He snapped his teeth at Kallie, urging her to her feet as whatever it was over there got closer. He lowered himself into a crouch, shuffling sideways until he was up against her legs, waiting for her to get on.

    His red eyes moved to her and he nudged her, cocking his head toward his back before returning his attention to the forest.

    "Are you sure you saw someone come this way?" came the voice of the Headmaster.

    "yes, yes!" came the voice of the boy Brock hated most in the world. Almost his arch nemesis. Brock hadn't even properly learned his name, he only knew that he loved to find any way to get him in trouble.

    And he had a crush on Kallie, but that was neither here nor there.

    The voices got closer, but Brock made no move to leave. His eyes continued to focus on the approaching wandlight.

    He wasn't leaving Kallie.

    Kallie blink as he stood up, her frown only deepening at the action. Her eyes, gaurded scanned the woods around them as she jumped and then scrambled to her own feet at his prompting.

    Now, since Kallie was not a stupid girl, she did not miss the meaning of his nudges or head shakes... she simply could not process what he wanted her to do.

    Did he really think that she would... hell the girl barely agreed to get on a broom, and he thought that she'd...

    Her head snapped up at the voices. She knew that... her eyes widened. She couldn't get caught out here. If she got caught out here then she'd-she'd....

    She worked too hard to loose everything over this.

    Frowning again she looked back at Brock... it was the last thing she wanted to do but...

    Even that was better than getting caught.

    "If you let me fall off," she muttered as she climbed on, digging her hands into his fur, "I swear I'll never speak to you again."

    Brock shifted slightly, Kallie's weight barely registering to him. For the first time, he rose to his full height, leaving Kallie quite far off the ground.

    "I swear I saw someone in here!" The voice was dangerously close now, the wand light clearly visable through the trees. Brock took a few quiet steps backward snarling silently in the direction of the danger, before he turned and started away at an easy walk, slowly making his way up into a trot, and eventually moving into a full out sprint. His paws glided over the snow, barely leaving an imprint as he moved them deeper and deeper into the woods. He started to slow as they reached their destination, the trees thickening around them so he had to actually adjust his course to dodge some of the larger roots.

    He slowed to a stop at the edge of a small break in the roots of a massive tree. It was big enough to fit maybe just him in his wolf form, but not Kallie...

    He slammed himself forward before stopping, ensuring that his Volchonka would fall forward - off his back and through the rabbithole. He followed a moment after, down the slightly slanted decline and into the small cavern created by the roots of the tree. He sat next to where the girl had fallen, wagging his tail and lulling his tongue at her.

    Kallie's grip tightened as the wolf stood up to full height. She swallowed and glared at the ground for a long moment.

    Did Brock have any idea how far she had to fall down if she slipped off. Honestly. Kallie didn't trust much for transportation besides her two feet. The more firmly they were on the ground, the happier she was.

    Swallowing again as he began to move she burried her face into his white fur, fine with missing the leaves blowing past her. It would probably only serve to make her motion sick anyway.

    Still, the advantages of hiding her face away came with one large disadvantage - she had no idea what the boy-wolf was about to do until she found herself tumbling down a dark hole, letting out a shriek of surprise.

    "That was throwing, you dimwitt," she glowered up at the large form from where she was sprawling gracelessly on the ground. Her elbow stung slightly, probably having skinned it on something as she had rolled down. "I told you not to let me fall, and what do you do? you go and throw me."

    Brock's tail paused in its wagging, and he cocked his head to the side slightly, a whine filling the air as he bent next to her. He nudged her side gently with his snout before sniffing all over her face, his breath puffing against her skin as he took in her scent. His red eyes met hers, then he was licking her again, one long lick right across her nose.

    Yawning wide again, he trotted into the centermost part of the roots, scratching his claws across the ground and walking in a circle a few times before curling into a ball. He raised his head and looked at her, almost confused to why she is so far away.

    Kallie wrinkled her nose squirming slightly as he began to sniff her, "Hey! Keep your snout away from me while I'm trying to be mad at you." She glared as he walked away, wipping her nose with an elaborate pout.

    Pulling herself up slightly, she turned to frown at the wolf, curling himself across the small cavern room. She watched him for a moment before sighing elaborately.

    "You big baby," she muttered as she spun herself around and crawled across the room before plopping herself beside him and leaning on him, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her chin into his fur. "Don't let this get to you're head. Its just you're damn puppy eyes. I'll go back to being mad at you in the morning."

    Brock shifted slightly to make sure his fur kept her surrounded and warm before curling around her once more, his head coming to rest beside her body. He closed his eyes after yawning once more, his entire body tired from the change and run. He had been told his stamina would improve the more he changed, but right now he was knackered. That was what those girls had been for earlier; all day he had been doing things to tire his excited inner wolf, from working out to running to, well, girling. Now, he just wanted to drift off to sleep...

    As he relaxed, his ears began to hone in on the small sounds around them, the wind picking up, the snow piling around the entrance of his hideout, and - the loudest of all - Kallie. Her soft breathing and heartbeat. It sent him into an easy kind of slumber, the kind he almost never got as a wolf. He was always too restless, jumping at every new noise or scent, but now...

    Now everything was Kallie, and nothing was scary. He curled around her further, and slipped into slumber.

    Kallie let the breath out of her nose softly, and let out a bemused smile as he yawned. She rubbed the fur just behind his ears again.

    "hyvää yötä, Pentu," she muttered softly as she could feel him relax, quite sure that he was already asleep. She smiled to herself as she snuggled deeper into his fur. She had to admit that she was quite comfortable where she was - it was warm. Cozy.

    Safe.

    She felt safe where she was. Which considering what she was with, wasn't all that logical but... Kallie supposed she didn't see it as a what, just a who.... just him.

    Smiling slightly once more, she laid her head back down on his body, using the cushion of fuzz as a pillow and closed her eyes. She mumbled her mother's lulluby to herself once more as she drifted off to sleep.

    ~~~~~TIME LAPSE~~~~~
    Brock groaned as someone continued to speak to him in a language that wasn't Russian. What the hell was she...
    She?
    He cracked an eye open and glanced down at his chest, at where Kallie was lying, still fast asleep. He rubbed his eyes and did a self evaluation. He was cold, he was hungry, and he was naked. He was predominately cold, however. His arm reached out, grabbing a pair of shorts he kept for this reason exactly, and slipping them on before sighing. His gaze went back to Kallie for a moment, calculating, before he wrapped his arms around her and rolled, moving so he was on top of her keeping her warm. His nose somehow found its way to the crook of her neck, and he breathed in deeply, her scent calming the unease and anxiousness that had been coursing through him.
    He closed his eyes and relaxed once more, almost slipping back into slumber.
    Kallie let out a little mew of protest as she was moved slightly, cold slipping in around her before it was more predominatly blocked. Her unconsious mind allowed her to relax again and curl back into the form ontop of her. Where she happily stayeed, muttering little snippets of dreams and thoughts that even to one who understood Finnish wouldn't make much sense - though to one paying very close attention to the on and off muttering, may have caught a certain boy's name slipping out amongst the other words.
    It was well over another hour, getting on to two before the muttering stopped, and slowly she began to crawl her way back to consciousness.
    And there were two things her groggy mind noticed. One: she wasn't in her dormitory back at school, nor her room at home, and two: she wasn't alone.
    "Mitä hel-," Kallie swallowed back the Finnish, and forced her groggy mind to slip into a admittedly rough Russian, "We stay out all night, yes? Some person will - I get in trouble."
    Brock grumbled something into the skin of her neck, his hold on her tightening. He wasn't ready to get up yet, and his Volchonka was making things difficult. He nuzzled further into her, mumbling something about everything being fine, something along the lines of he'd take care of it, and was still again.
    Kallie frowned and grumbled in responce to his grumbling.
    "You better take care of it," she muttered, her hand finding its way to play with his hair without even noticing she was doing it. Perhaps it had been a habit that had developed at some point in the night before.
    She paused for a moment, and then frowned at him again; he obviously didn't seem like he was moving anytime soon.
    "Lazy," she muttered even though truthfully she didn't really mind not moving either. Once she had woken up enough to, well accept everything again.
    Sighing, she continued to play with his hair, and hummed softly to herself.
