Dark Arts- 4th year Empty Dark Arts- 4th year

Post by Ivano Raymono Tue Jul 31, 2012 10:17 pm

Ivano knew that this exchange program would be very educational, but he also knew he had upset his long time girlfriend but he knew that she would forgive him because she always did. He had fought his father for a little bit, but then his father put is foot down and told him he was going to do it whether he liked it or not.

This whole campus was interesting to him, let alone the language was a little different for him, he had been working a little on his Russian but it was really rusty.

This was going to be an interesting class and the reason that Ivano wanted to take it was he wanted to learn about the dark arts instead of just defense against them. Even though thanks to his family background he knew some already.

He thought he would just sit and wait for other students to arrive.

Mystical had decided after last year she really did enjoy this class, it apparently had something to do with the professor, she really liked him. It didn't have anything to do with the fact that he was also the highmaster.

Walking into the class she noticed that there was another student in there, one she had never seen before so she gave a slight wave and then sat down and waiting to see if any other students arrived and the professor.

Kendera didn't even bother to look around the room, this time. She simply went to the nearest seat and sat, hunching down in her chair, muscles tensed and senses on high alert. Why won't it - they... whatever - leave her alone?

She wanted to cry or scream or... just something. Instead, she merely waited patiently for them to speak again, even as she attended her classes just like everyone else. It was almost too much. She just wanted to hide or disappear... anything to just make the voices stop.

Sacha walked into the Dark Arts classroom, eyes briefly sweeping over the students there as he moved to the front. "This year, we shall be discussing the Dark Arts and the impact this art and some of its practitioners have had on society.

"Who can name me some of the most prominent Dark wizards in history?" he asked, raising a brow expectantly.

Sometimes Mystic wondered why she always seemed to be the one that answered teachers questions, it was not like she was a know-it-all. She just felt stupid sitting there and not saying anything.

"Well Sir, the two that come to my mind are Voldemort, and Grindelwald."

"Correct, Miss Dream," Sacha replied, "ten points.

"Though, there have been other dark wizards throughout the course of history, the two most prominent were, in fact, Gellert Grindelwald and Tom Riddle, who was more commonly known as Lord Voldemort," the man lectured. "Today, we shall discuss Durmstrang's own claim to Dark Lord fame: Grindelwald. What do any of you know about him?"

Mystic smiled as she received her points, she had come to really enjoy this class. It has turned out to be nothing like her parents were teaching her. There was more to Dark Arts other than killing people.

"Sir, Grindelwald was a brilliant student at here, but was expelled at the age of 16, at which point he chose to go abroad for a few months, moving in with his great-aunt Bathilda Bagshot in Godric's Hollow. During his stay in Godric's Hollow, Grindelwald became very close with then 18-year-old Albus Dumbledore, and drew the latter into his plans for world domination."

Mystic knew a lot about Grindelwald but didn't want to go on and on, even though she could write a paper.

Striding in, Alannah's cold eyes took in everybody, and stopped at the professor. Her mind was already prepared for why she was late, but she wasn't going to make some pitiful excuse. Excuses was for weaklings; stand up straight and admit your mistakes. If you can not avoid it.

"Hello, Professor Rusnak. Sorry I am late, it was truly not my intention to be." Sitting where she wasn't in the front or the back, Alannah looked at the professor again, ignoring all the other students.

"He also had an obsession with the Dealthy Hallows, which Dumbledore shared," Alannah added to the girls statement, her tone cold as ice.

He was also an idiot, She thought, frowning. He wasn't sealthly enough, to accomplished his plans. And he was a fool to not learn how to control his emotions. Tom Riddle succeed better, but he was also a fool to try to change the famous prophecy.

Ordinarily, Kendera would have been quick to offer and answer, or at least take notes. The girl had an intense need to excel in any and all challenges, classes being chief among them. At present, she was far too out of sorts to even have the desire to try.

So, instead, the girl all too often identified as a know-it-all sat in silence. It was uncertain if she was even paying attention to what was being said.

"Do avoid making a habit of it, Miss Vogel. It will be house points, next time you are tardy," he said.

"Correct," Sach replied. "Five points, each."

The man looked up as a rather nervous owl fluttered through the open classroom window. Taking the letter it carried, he read it quickly, expression remaining impassive.

"It would seem an emergency has cropped up," he told his students. "Therefore, for the remainder of the class period, I want for you all to write me a foot-long essay* on something pertaining to the life of Gellert Grindelwald and some of his more notorious feets. You will leave your essays on my desk. You may leave once you are finished."

Without further ado, the man briskly left the room, the owl clinging anxiously to his shoulder.

    * Essay is not actually acquired. I am happy to assume you wrote it .
