Divination | Fifth Years

Adele entered the classroom, her eyes losing their usual sparkle. Ever since Kaycee had... passed away, there was nothing to celebrate in her point of view. Without her brother, the world seemed a lot darker without his comforting owls, a lot gloomier, and much less fun than it used to be.

Just like what Haze used to say.

The Gryffindor shoved her bag into the desk and took deep breaths. If there was another person in the room, she didn't care about them. All she wanted was utter silence and some peace.

Thomas walked into Divination and saw there was only one other person there. Thomas remembered her to be Jodie. He had a couple classes with her the year before. Thomas walked fully in and took a seat.

He gave a nod to the girl and waited for the professor to arrive. This was a new class this year and he couldn't wait to see if it was any good. Thomas sighed a little bit and leaned back in his chair.

Picky was relieved to find that she was seemingly early or ealier than the professor in this class as well. She didn't say hello to anyone in the class having already said hi to Jodie and been in the class with the Slytherin once today she figured her peppy hellos were uncalled for. She dropped her bag on the floor and pulled out her book and laid her head on the table waiting for the professor to show.

Making her way into the classroom, Sophia gave her students an apologetic smile. Today was not the day for arriving on time to her classes, it would seem.

"I'm sorry tae keep ye waitin'," the Scot apologized. "Let's get started, shall we?

"Who can tell me anethin' about runes?"

Seeing no one replied, Picky raised her hand slowly, her voice coming very softly. "They are symbols, in different cultures they are used as an alphabet. But Magically they are used as symbolic hints to divining the future?" She put her hand down and blushed looking around at the others in the class.

Adele placed a frown across her face. "Runes are like... from the Vikings, right?" she asked. She remembered Jethro telling her this as a bedtime story because she wanted something interesting one night. "They throw rocks carved with runes onto the ground and predict the future just from the way they land. There are no runes for 'q', 'v' and 'z'."

Iva opened the door and let a familiar shaggy head pop through drapes her robes created. The Russian nodded backwards, telling the wolf to return the hall during class, before entering the room herself. Placing herself near the back, Iva didn't make any move to get out paper or quill to take notes.
