A Dare ((Mars Pagan))

Amelia was convinced that she was mad. She had finally gone insane. She had spent too long trying to improve her horribly-written Transfiguration essay, that she had lost her mind. Why else would she walk into Forbidden Forest, way past curfew, all for a dare?

She had been minding her own business, completing her Transfiguration assignment, when her dorm mates decided that it was time for a game. And Amelia, being Amelia, had happily abandoned her homework and joined them. The fact that it was Transfiguration homework did nothing to stop her from joining her friends. And so the game began, with various dares for the group of girls.

But unexpectedly, half way through the game, Amelia was dared to walking into the Forbidden Forest, stay there for at least half an hour, before returning. Amelia had wanted to refuse, she really did. But the looks on her friends face told her that they were actually expecting her to refuse. Well, she wasn't going to back-out and give them that satisfaction.

Wand in hand, and marched out of the Hufflepuff Common Room, and walked right up to the Forbidden Forest. After much hesitation, she finally stepped into the dense forest. "It'll be fine, just stay at the border of the forest, and you'll be fine..." she consoled herslef softly, at the same time looking out for any potential danger.

As expected, Hogwarts was boring. School had never really held Mars's interest. School was just started and already he was bored, meaning it was time to find some entertainment of some kind.

He was wandering lazily through the forbidden forest, hoping to find something of interest. When a girl wandered in, he grinned. The teen trailed behind her, staying out of sight and making only enough noise so that she could hear but not identify what was stalking her.

Amelia was just wondering aimlessly making sure to keep close to the border of the forest, humming a tune so that she wouldn't be feeling too lonely and scared. At least it helped. She was also cursing her dorm mates in her mind for sending her over here.

She was so sure that she was alone, that no one would come here at this time, that the sudden noise behind her caused her to jump a foot. She immediately turned around, wand held aloft, she quickly turned, but couldn't see anything. Swallowing heavily, she turned back and continued walking, but kept hearing the noise behind her.

After a few unsuccessful attempts to find the source of the sound, she turned around, and stopped. "Who is that?" By then, she was fairly sure that it could be one of her dorm mates scaring her.

Mars silently moved up in the trees, moving along side her as well as behind and in front of her. He chuckled at her question.

"Shouldn't you ask 'what' is that?" he asked, moving from one tree to another. "You are in the forbidden forest in the middle of the night. Lots of things in here. Wolves. Werewolves. Vampires. Giant spiders."

He dropped silently to the ground right behind her. "Boo!"
