Overall history: Valkyrie grew up in a home with 4 older brothers. They often hid her things, mocked her and picked fights with their younger sister. Her brothers made her as argumentative and hot-headed as she is today. Although she hates them, her father drilled into her the importance of family bonds and has been taught to be protective of them.

Elizabeth Ashford (Val's mother) is a witch, but enjoys muggle boxing over work in the wizard world. She trained all of her children in kick boxing, particularly focussing on her youngest child- and the only girl- Valkyrie. Elizabeth sees being a werewolf as an advantage that enhances the senses, and teaches you to trust your instincts more. When she gave birth to her oldest son, she planned on changing all of her children.

As soon as Andrew was turned, Elizabeth regretted her decision. Val's mother could barely watch her son in so much pain, and stopped herself from changing any of her other children. However, Valkyrie started showing a natural talent for kick boxing, and her mother saw herself in her daughter. Valkyrie was changed at the age of 12, and trained by her mother about how to control her wolf.
