All in a Day's Work Empty All in a Day's Work

Ksenia cursed under her breath as the thick folders swayed in her arms, the girl's small figure swaying to the side with them. Who on Earth would have thought that a year's worth of survielence notes and documentation would weigh so much. The people who looked after the information that she carried in her arms right now probably did not think at all about how the information got to them, only worrying and demanding that completely all evidence of the information gathered be submitted to them at the end of each year.

Another curse fell from the Slushatel's lips in a hiss as she stumbled slightly. Were any papers to fall out of the folders right now, as the girl feared they would at any moment, any who managed to catch a glimpse of what was written on them would see nothing but notes on the activities of the giant communities in Russia in the seventeenth century and nothing more. The irony of the situation the girl has ended up in was starting to annoy her more and more as the weight of the folders made an even bigger mark on her straining arms.

"Must be heavy for you, all those papers." Standing against the wall as she enjoyed a ruby red. Apple, Karma Black smirked, obviously amused by the other girls struggles. "If you need help, you'd only need to ask. Its just paper." Taking another slow bite of the apple, Karma's eyes slowly took in the other girls appearance, her gaze lingering on her throat briefly before she looked back at the papers.

"When did you become an errand boy anyway, Seni?" For the briefest moment, it seemed as if the girl had fangs, before she bit into the apple once more. "I'd think you were higher up than that, by now." Returning her gaze to her almost completely devoured apple core, the girl threw it over her shoulder, unconcerned with how it bounced off several walls before sailing out a window. There was a trash can out there, Karma knew. It was becoming quite difficult to care.

Reaching into her pocket, the girl pulled out a lollipop, unwrapping it in a second and sticking the sweetness between her lips. Grinning around the stick, she took a single preditory step forward, her eyes flashing from Ksenia's throat to her eyes. "T'sup?" Taking a deep breath through her nose, Karma raised a prim eyebrow. "Why do you smell like Cailicious?" The name was said as she'd said it a million times before, a smirk playing across her lips. Though it was a petname, Karma said it as if it were the boy's actual name, as was her way with nicknames. "Haven't fallen for him, have you?"

"Exactly!" Ksenia snapped, not looking at the other girl as she moved forward a few steps. "It's just paper and it requires far too much hassle," she growled, quite concentrated on her task as she moved forward, not saying anything to the Slytherin for a few moments. Her destination was just a few feet away from her, there was no reason to distract herself with chatter in the meantime. The sooner she got rid of this awful burden that resided in her arms at the moment, the better. Using the toe of her left shoe, the Slushatel opened the door of the cupboard where she was supposed to deliver all of her documentation. With a heave, Ksenia shoved the load into the cupboard and slammed the door closed, not even looking as the contents of the cupboard disappeared from the small space.

"Oh, I didn't. It just seemed that I needed the workout at that time," she said, almost too smoothly as she turned around to face the other girl finally. "Should have burned those papers instead. Would have been better for everyone," she muttered as she looked at her slightly sore arms.

The Slushatel's shoulders shrugged slightly at the question before she moved to walk closer to the other girl and sitting herself down at a window seat, her eyes not leaving Karma. "Oh, just the usual. Mostly research with little hints of rebellion here and there. Nothing that extraordinary,” she said.

Her eyebrows rose at the Slytherin’s next statement. “Do you know him?” she cocked her head to the side. She supposed that she should have been a little bit surprised by that kind of statement, but surprise was an emotion that she had nearly forgotten. Her mind wandered back to the time she had spent with Caius for a few moments. There was so much that was still unknown to her about that man.
