Nine in The Afternoon

Damian gave an amused smirk, caressing her cheek with one hand. "I didn't mean right now," he said. "I can be reckless, but not that much.

"We'll discuss things," the boy agreed. "Figure things out." He wasn't overly concerned about most of the things she seemed to think they ought, of course, but he didn't say so. There was one matter that concerned him a bit, however.

"You're going to be a hunter." It was a reminder, both of what she had said before as well as the fact that at the point they had reached, there was no out.
