Sitting on the snowy banks he watched it move. It was cold; chucks of ice hovered over the edge, the slower and shallower water, but where the main current was the water was still moving strong.
Picking up a rock from besides him, he tossed it, watching it fall into the water with a dull plop. It disrupted the water only for a moment a mere second, and then all existence of it disappeared.
A frown crossed his face. Did the water eat it? Was it gone forever, or just hiding? What about him? Would he disappear if he went into the water too. Taking only half a second to glance around him, he pushed himself up off the grass, and shoes and all, walked right into the river.
