For the Prefect, it was strange, walking into the club she had once wrapped herself around. It wasn't because of the lively atmosphere she had grown so used to avoiding. It wasn't because of all the strange faces she had never seen before and she was sure she would never see again. It wasn't because of the alcohol which she had stopped craving for.
No. It was because of a selfish, defining reason: her appearance.
Running her fingers through her swiping brown curls, the Uchitel scanned the bar, choosing to sit down by the bar. She watched all the pathetic, stupid youngsters who were, in reality, not much different than her. In her head, however, those times were a million lifetimes away, hidden behind a frame by a steel knot.
Under all of the pressure Leon and Enya and Charles, it was a wonder that the steel wires holding her sanity never frayed. Perhaps... that conversation with Liam had enlightened her to levels she had never thought possible. She liked the side that was explored as she spoke to him, the monotone, the icy, furtive glances.
The blonde, joyous curls that once defined Lena Vorstenbach was gone. Only the morose brown curls and the strong shell of Ashling was left behind, holding her subtle body.
