Personality: Jem lost his job 6 years ago, making him angry and bitter. He turned to alcohol and quickly became a drunk. He takes out his frustration on his son Trevor whenever his wife isn't home, but is more civil when she's around because she doesn't want to lose her.

Jem is an angry drunk and often gets into fights at the bar. He has since then learned to fight in both the wizard and muggle ways to keep himself from getting killed. He stumbles home every night cursing and roaring about something or other that happened at the bar. He drags himself out of bed around noon to eat something and hit Trevor if he's around.

Overall history: Jem was born in a small Scottish town to a Pureblood mother who had been disowned for getting pregnant without being married. She didn't know much about his father except that his first name was Jason and he was a Pureblood wizard. She always told Jem that he had his father's eyes. Jem hated his father for leaving his mother alone and hated his mother's family for casting her out. He vowed never to get involved in either of them.

Jem worked from a young age in various shops to help his mother with bills. He worked hard when he was young, but was bitter, imagining the life he should have had if his father hadn't abandoned them. He never thought to blame his mother and loved her, becoming angry on both their behalf. He fell in with a bad crowd and drank from an early age, though he never got roaring drunk until later.

Jem met young, pretty Alice Currens coming out of a shop, accidentally knocking her over. He fell in love with her at once, though she took a while and a few dates before she started to love him back. They got married a year later and had Trevor a few years after that. Jem had wanted to give Alice everything,but hadn't wanted a child. He tried to love it for her sake, but when he lost his job, he saw Trevor as just one more thing he had to spend money on. He began drinking and abusing Trevor when Alice wasn't home, though Jem continued to love her deeply.
