Lesson One (Second Years)

Sitting back in his desk, Cobalt frowned a little as he looked out over the empty classroom, the desks having been vanished for this lesson. He waved his wand and the chalk wrote expelliarmus on the board.

Anna skipped into the classroom, humming a tune she had heard at home. She sat at the front seat, surprised to see that she was the first one there.



"Good morning, Professor!" she smiled.

Alessa walked in the room, noticing that neither the other students nor tables and chairs were set up before them. She read the board that says 'expelliarmus' and smiles smugly. "Good day professor," she said as she sat down next to Anna. "Hey there," she said, smiling.

"Hey Lessy," Anna smiled, fiddling with her hair. It was something she did when she was bored.

Iris came into the room and noticed Alessa. She walked to take a seat next to her. She noticed a girl from Ravenclaw. She wouldn't mind making friends. "Hi Alessa! This subject rocks." She joked and turned for the girl. "Hi! I'm Iris Frances. Alessa's a friend of mine. Nice to have you here. I definitely want to make friends from the other house." She sweetly smiled and turned for the other person in the room - Professor Smith. "Good day professor." She said with a bow.

Anna laughed. She had made friends with so many Slytherins, it was ridiculous. "Hello, Iris!" she smiled. "I'm Annabeth, but please, call me Anna."

Iris happily nodded and wondered where to sit. Beside Anna or Alessa? If which was available. She talked while looking for one on both sides. "So Anna, too many Slytherins huh? I made friends with the second year girls of our house. I think it's kind of interesting to befriend a Ravenclaw." She laughed.

She saw Iris step in the room. "Hey Iris!" she giggled. "Yeah, it sure does! Come, sit beside me," gesutring the chair beside her as an invite.

Anna laughed. "I've been here one year and I haven't seen a Ravenclaw who would talk to me for one second."

Iris seated next to Alessa and leaned forward to see Anna which was at the other side. "Thanks Less. Do you mind if I call you that?" She then talked to Anna, "I guess most Ravenclaws are busy with their intelligence. Tell me, was the riddle to enter your common room that hard? It really is lazy to solve riddles. I don't like them much. It stresses my mind. Not clearly my type. Working with your brain until it explodes. Can be the reason why I wasn't sorted in your house." she chuckled.

She faced Anna, apparently in shock. "Why not? Shouldn't the houses stick with each other?" Alessa furrowed her brows. "Or maybe you weren't Sorted properly..."

She gave out an evil smile and raised a brow. She laughed a minute after. "Well, we Slytherins are here, though, so not to worry."

She looked at Iris and smiled. "Yes, call me however you want as long as it is related to Alessa." she giggled, "I think Alessa's a century older for me, so might as well call me using a nickname."

"Me?" Anna mocked being in shock. "Not sorted properly? Oh geez... I have shallow intelligence! How am I not a Ravenclaw?"



"Same with Annabeth," Anna agreed.

"Oh. Alright then. Less it is." She just laughed at Alessa's opinion about Anna's situation. It was funny. She loved to laugh. If only she could do that all day.

Alexis skidded to a halt in front of the classroom. I hope I'm not let, she chanted in her mind.
Upon entering, she saw Anna, Alessa and Iris talking amiably. She waved at them and went to lean by the wall beside them.

Georgie walked into the class seeing a bunch of people were there already. She realised that there was no desks set out and on the board the word 'Expelliarmus' was written.

Laedin squeaked slightly as he entered the classroom, keeping his head down as to not be noticed. He really, really hoped he wasn't late. Of course, it's just like him to be late on the first day of class..

He chanced a look to the front of the classroom to see 'Expelliarmus' written on the board. So that's what they were learning first..

Tobi arrived at DADA to see that there were no chairs and so everyone was just standing around. He thought it odd but realized that it must be part of the class lesson. He noticed Expelliarmus written on the board. Ahh he thought, we get to do some disarming. This should be fun he thought and smirked. "Hello Professor." He said and just picked a spot where he could keep an eye on everyone.

Alessa waved at Alexis and looked at Iris after. "See, I told you she'd show up." she said, giggling.

"Lost your way through the staircases, didn't you?" she asked with her brow raised, as Alexis joined them.

'Of course not.' Alexis replied, affronted. 'The stupid staircase decided to move while I was on it. So I had to come through a more complex route.' She huffed.

Alessa laughed. "I'm kidding, relax. You're really lucky, though. I had to go back and forth for four times in seven staircases once when it was my first year. Really, I wish we could just apparate inside this castle."

Alexis smiled back in response. She was really excited about DADA.

Iris surprisingly saw Alexis there and whispered to Alessa. "Whew. She made it. You can be right." She let out a soft chuckle and smiled at Alexis.

"Phew! I'm on time for this class at least!" Clarisse said to herself in a low voice, and looked for somewhere to sit, but there was nowhere, so she just stood there in a corner, alone, waiting for class to start.

Alexis smiled back at Iris and pulld out her parchment and quill.

Anna saw another Ravenclaw come into the class, but this time, she was not familiar with her. She beckoned her over, mouthing, 'D'you want to come stand with us?'
