Personality: Sacha tends to come across as a rather cold personality. He is aloof and diffident. He is very self-contained and controlled, and not often one to show much emotion. One might contribute this to his pureblood upbringing but for the fact that he was rather easy-going and carefree as a youth.

Acutely shrewd, Sacha at times seems able to read people, though he is perfectly incapable of Legilimency or any such art. Despite his aloofness as a person, he still manages to possess a rather genial business manner. Those who are close to him - the number of whom are very few - occasionally capture a glimpse of the warm and caring man that lies beneath Sacha's cool exterior.

Overall history: Sacha was born to elite pureblood (and irresponsible party girl) Yarina Rusnak when she was nineteen years old. The identity of Sacha's father was never known. Soon after, mother and son returned to live with Yarina's parents, where Sacha grew up under the watchful care of his grandparents and a freeborn elf by the name of Ketty. To this day, Ketty is still considered Sacha's dearest friend and perhaps his closest confidant.

It was early in Sacha's childhood that it was discovered he had inherited a rare trait, most likely from his unknown father: he was immune to demons. A new playmate of his, Ramzan, happened to have been born with an Amur Tiger demon fused to his soul. Sacha's touch caused Ramzan significant discomfort, 'as though the demon was trying to pull away.' Despite this - perhaps, because of it - Sacha and Ramzan remained close friends throughout their growing up years. Ramzan vanished when Sacha was sixteen; it was widely believed that the ill-tempered youth had gotten himself killed.

During his school years, it was revealed that Sacha had inherited another immunity from his father. Sacha was perfectly immune to all mental magics, making it impossible for such arts to used on him and himself incapable of performing them. His mind was perfectly his own.

After he graduated from Durmstrang (the school where he would later become Highmaster, in 2050), Sacha traveled the world for a while, eventually ending up in Britain, where he met and fell in love with the beautiful and self-centered Lydia Wright. When Sacha proposed, Lydia cruelly rejected him. It was this experience that caused Sacha to grow into the reserved and seemingly unfeeling man that he is today.

Despite her rejection, Sacha never truly held Lydia's selfish cruelty against her - until twelve years later when she requested to meet with him. They had had a son, Matthew, whom Lydia had never told him about. Planning to herself get married, Lydia demanded that Sacha take the boy. Sacha did just that, swearing that he would never let her see Matthew again after the damage her rejection would have caused the child.

It was nearly a year later that Sacha had a one night stand with Alise Nurse. Later helping her when she was injured, he discovered the state of her living accommodations and insisted that she go to live in one of his spare houses, instead. It was shortly after that that Alise found out she was pregnant and told Sacha.

In an uncharacteristically rash move, Sacha proposed marriage, despite the fact they hardly knew each other. For the sake of their child, Alise agreed. Though, their marriage hadn't initially been for love, Sacha ended up falling for Alise, anyway.

Though, unaccustomed to letting people close to him, Sacha has always been good with people, almost supernaturally so. He has a vast network of contacts, many of whom don't even know who he is. Because of his way of tracking down desirable information and manipulating the affairs of others, he's come to be known as 'the Shadow', not only in Russian, but German, English, and other languages, as well. In fact, he is perhaps the most influential man in the modern Wizarding World, though, his loyalties remain unknown.
