Why is it cold and who chose purple anyway?

Looking around the Uchitel Common Room again Ren not for the first time wondered what had made the people choose Amethyst as their color. He supposed it was because back in the very old medieval times purple could only be worn by those of royalty then nobility. Either that or the founder of Uchitel drew the short straw when it came to colors.

Scratching at the base of his neck, the teen stretched and let out satisfying sigh as his back cracked and his shoulders relaxed. Keeping his head leaned back against the chair, legs spread out in front of him, Ren let himself stay in the undignified position. A frown crossed his face as he shut his eyes. "Why is it always so bloody cold?"

Celest walked in to the common room and was shocked to hear a voice ask a question. She smiled a bit and said "I guess it is because they want to see us suffer." she laughed a bit.

Opening his eyes and immediately straightening, the teen looked over to who'd spoken and saw that it was a student younger than him. Either that or she was a midget. "That could be," Ren consented with a slight nod. "Is that why they chose purple for our color?"

To Ren it didn't resemble purple but something that was trying to look like purple. Maybe it had started out as purple but had faded to a dull off grayish-purple.
