A midnight snack ( anyone)

Tessa had manged to find her way into the kitchen again. She loved it cause the house elves would bring her milk and cookies. And it reminded her of her times at home. She was nibbling on her chocolate chip cookies, trying to enjoy them. Tessa knew that she wasn't by herself because their was house elves there, and she knew that she had at least one frined. But she was trying her best to be a good one. Even thought she asked herself why anybody would pay attention to her. Maybe it was because Ruby felt sorry for her.

Phoenix had been hiding in the kitchen all night, used to hanging out with the house elves every so often. She liked it well enough. Her large chocolate eyes smiled at the happily working house elves, all of them so pleased to bring the kind young girl anything she wanted. She disliked being outside of this room, it was warm and friendly. Unlike most places around school, she was comfortable.
She heard the hidden door open and she ducked behind a shelf, shushing the house elves and waiting to see if the other person would go away. She could be in some serious trouble if she was caught my a staff member. After a little while, Phoenix peeked out from behind the shelf and watched the other person.
The girl was a student too, seemingly as happy as Phoenix was before the girl joined her. She cocked her head and raised a thin eyebrow, smiling and walking silently towards her subconsciously, sitting down on the table and staring at her quietly. "Hello."

Tessa then was slient, when she found there was someone else there. She was always used to being by herself, sometimes she wondered if she was antisocial. Tessi just wasn't comfertable around others, and that it because most of the time they would judge her.

A house elf then brought her some more chocolate chip cookies. She then started to drink a little bit of her milk, because she knew that it helped keep her bones healthy. Tessi knew that she was going to have to speak sometime. She didn't want to be rude, but she was scared this girl was going to judge her.

" Hello?"

Phoenix smiled brightly and hoped off of the table, hugging Tessa so suddenly as she giggled. When she pulled away, she didn't know what to expect. Her hair, which had been pulled up in a lazy bun, had started falling out as she exerted her excitement. She stared at the girl, her teeth glistening in the dim light, showing off how white they were. Nearly as pale as snow. She waved a little as she jumped back onto the table, saying cheerily, "Hey there. I'm Phoenix Novokoff. I'm a Uchitel third year. What's your name?"

Tessa didn't know what to do when she was hugged by someone that she didn't. At first she thought maybe this girl was crazy, or she was on a sugar rush. It looked like Tessi was staring at something, but she really knew the truth. And she knew that she was going to have to explain. But she didn't know how this girl would react, she knew that Ruby took it well. " I am Tessa Grey. I am in Hitrost and I in my 3rd year."

Phoenix's eyes widened with surprise and she grinned, "We have classes together, right? Or we should. I've been skipping lately." The small thirteen year old bounced up and down slightly, brown eyes appearing to stare into one's souls. She hugged herself and accepted a brownie from a house-elf wholeheartedly. "Thank you, dear." She winked at the elf and turned her attention back to Tessa, "So what are you doing here, hm? Not that I have any right to ask that but still."

Tessa blink a little bit, she really wasn't for sure who was all in her classes. But it wasn't like she could just look and see. Was this person actually trying to make her feel welcome. This was something that she wasn't used to. But she continued to stare off into space. She wasn't being rude or anything, she was hoping that the girl wouldn't think so. " I come down here so I am not by myself."

"Oh? I can see why. It's so nice here, the elves don't mind a bit. Is that the only reason? You seem awfully sad about something. Would it be alright if I asked what was the matter?" Phoenix was unusually talkative, but she was about as happy and hyper as she normally would be. She was easily excitable around new people, especially when they were exceptionally interesting. "And what are you staring at? The wall couldn't possibly be that interesting, could it?"
Phoenix leaped to stand at Tessa's side again and stared at the wall, trying to figure out what was so cool about it.

This is the part where Tessa wished she could run and hide. She hated to explain this, cause she was always nervous. She then took in a couple of deep breaths. " I am blind." This is when she was slient, cause this is where people would either accepted it or push her away. She then grabbed one of the cookies and ate it, she knew that maybe she would be asked a ton of questions. That what Ruby did when she found out.

Phoenix jerked back in surprise but bit her lip and hugged Tessa again like she did before, an apology for jerking back like she had. "Oh Tess I'm sorry! I had no idea. How did it happen?" She asked all of it with genuine sincerity. Phoenix was a kind young girl, she would love people no matter their problems. She only ever wanted the best for people and usually, love was the best cure for anything.

Tessa blinked a little bit. " It is alright, people usually don't know how to react when I tell them that. She then hugged her back, even though she didnt' know who this person was. " I was born blind, I have never seen what anything look like." Tessa knew that she had to keep an open mind, she was sure she was going to be asked a ton of questions.

"Oh... That must be horrible. Not being able to see the trees or the sky... or the rain. It would make me want to die... Is that why you're sad?" Phoenix asked as the girl hugged her back uncertainly, watching her with wide sad eyes. She loved watching the rain and nature and sunsets. She loved it all. This poor girl... She would gladly donate an eye, or both, to her so she could see.

Tessa sighed. " You can't miss what you don't see." She then blinked, Tessa never thought of herself as looking like she was sad all the time. And she never thought to ask Ruby. She smiled a little bit. " I know what colors are in a sunset, and I try to imangie what it would look like." She then didn't want this girl to feel sorry for her, it only made Tessa feel weak and helpless."

Phoenix felt the change in Tessa's attitude, dropping to the ground onto her knees and staring up at her. "Well, if you say so. You seemed like you really don't like talking about it. How come?" Phoenix was relaxing, her Russian accent dulling down to almost sound British. She needed to calm down to continue to converse with Tessa.

Tessa sighed. " I really don't talk to much anybody beside Ruby. It isn't that I don't want to. It just some people don't know how to act around me." She felt a little bit better that it was now out. It was like she didn't have to hide it anymore. She then carefully listened to her now british accent, that was one thing Tessa loved. Just sitting there listening to everyone speak.

"I see... well, you shouldn't have to worry about that. You're no different than any other person, regardless if you could see or not. At least you know what you're doing. Unlike some people who have sight." Phoenix fidgeted with her shoelace quietly as she thought about what to say. "Have you always gone to Durmstrang?"

Tessa smiled. " I am used to be treated differently. I am really not different from anybody else, but there are some who can't see it like that." She then paused a couple of seconds and she ate another one of her cookies, and then took a sip of her milk. " Yes I have always gone to Durmstrang."

"Still doesn't mean they should treat you so differently though. And why you should be pushed away because of the fact that you can't see." Phoenix shrugged, taking another brownie with a sweet smile, looking up at Tessa curiously. "I wonder why we've never talked to each other... that's bizarre."

Tessa sighed. " That is just how some people are. You can't changed what they think." Sometimes she wished that she could, but knew that she couldn't do it. But she smiled a little bit. " Well the only person I have actually been talking to is Ruby. And that is because we are in the same house. I don't really talk to other people, I can be a bit shy something." Tessa knew that the last part was true, and knew that something could be done about it.

Phoenix laughed lightly, "I can tell. You didn't seem very... extroverted I suppose you could say, when I made my presence known." The young girl giggled and fell backwards onto the ground. People that didn't know her would think she were crazy or high, but in all actuality this was just Phoenix.

Tessa then started to blink a little bit. She didn't really know what to think of the girl. But Tessa didn't really have many friends, so she couldn't complain. She smiled a little bit, cause she knew that she could never be a good friend. She hated it that she was blind. She knew if she could see, then she would actually be able to do things.

"You wanna go to the village?" Phoenix asked suddenly, mischief shining in her dark eyes. She was one of the few that went out there at night. It could be dangerous for young wizards and witches, but she'd mastered it to where she was enjoying herself with the thrill. And she liked teaching people of all kinds. Hell, she snuck off to the Catacombs the other night.

Tessa blinked. " Won't we get in trouble." One thing she didn't want was a howler from her parents after she got into trouble. She was torn, because she wanted to go and have a good time. But she always wanted to stay out of trouble. And she knew this would be someting new and different for her.

Phoenix snorted, rolling her eyes, glad that Tessa was blind so that she had missed the rude gesture. She shook her head and said quickly, "Nope~! I'm the master of sneaking out. I haven't been in any of my classes this week so I don't know why I haven't gotten in trouble but!! Oh well."

Tessa smiled a little bit. " I mean I guess we could go, I never actually did any sneaking out." She knew that she could never be like a normal girl, and sneak out. Or even have a boyfriend, but she was actually was going to do it.

" Sure let's sneak out, I mean it can't be all that bad."
