DADA (2nd years)

Valerie walked into the classroom ready to learn how to use more spells. Valerie has been memorizing spells all summer to prepare for what was going to happen this year. Valerie was so excited to be back to the place she called home. Valerie just sat there and waited.

He felt like front flipping into the room, but he contained his happiness and entered with a broad smile, he waved at the other girl in the room and sat near her he leaned closer and said "Hey, I'm Vincent, Ravenclaw" he nodded and looked for anyone entering. He couldn't wait to cast a spell.

Valerie was sitting in the classroom when she heard someone enter. She looked to the door to see a boy her age walk in. He waved and she waved back. He said his name was Vincent and she smiled. "Valerie, Hufflepuff" she introduced.

Storm nearly ran to DADA. She couldn't wait to get started. There were two people there so far.

She chose a seat, and waved at the others.

Valerie heard someone come in and turned to see the girl from potions. She waved and Valerie waved back. Still no professor Valerie thought. Oh well at least she wasn't alone anymore.

Belinda walked into class and saw her sister again, a boy from Ravenclaw, and a girl from Gryffindor. Belinda took the empty seat next to Valerie. "Hey, I'm Belinda" Belinda introduced herself to the boy and the girl. Belinda looked at Valerie. "Nice to see you again Val" Belinda said to her sister.

Humming softly to herself, Ross on her heels, Savannah entered the classroom. Scanning the room with a wave, she took a seat by herself, watching Ross scurry around the classroom. Sighing softly, she rubbed her temples. Merlin, she was so tired. She'd barely gotten any sleep in weeks.

He smiled at all the new faces and repeated his greeting to each person. He kept smiling at how nice everyone was being, he tried to join in the conversation "So did you girls come here last year? I haven't seen you before" he hoped it sounded nice his voice had dropped since last year and he was proud of it.

Valerie looked at Vincent and nodded. "Yeah Belinda and I came here last year. I just don't think we had any classes together" Valerie said to him.

Edith entered the classroom sipping on her cup of tea, she walked up to the front of the room and placed her tea on the desk and turned around to face the class

"Welcome back students, I hope you all had very enjoyable summer holidays, but now your all rested and refreshed we must get straight into it. So today we will be learning a spell called Oppugno" Edith then looked around at the class

"So does anybody no what this spell does?" she asked

With a quick wave he said "Hello Professor, Oppugno is a spell that directs an object or individual to attack the victim. This curse will cause conjured creatures or other moveable objects under the control of the caster to attack the target." he smiled and added "My brother was taught it and I learnt the hard way what it did"

Edith nodded at the boy who answered " Yes thats absolutely correct Mr Furtell" Edith then pulled out a few old garden pots from behind her desk and sat them on a spare desk, she then flicked her wand at a wooden figure it then hoover to the front of the class

Edith then turned and smiled at the students " Alright class we shall be using this spell to direct these old garden pots to hit this wood figure" Edith then looked around the class "So who would like to go first?"

Listening to the conversation through a sort of haze, Savannah frowned, still rubbing her temples. Hissing softly, she raised her hand. This would distract her from everything going on her head, "I'll go first."

Edith then looked over at the girl who said that she would be first to try the spell "Ah yes ok Miss Lerran up you come then" Edith then waited for the girl to walk up to the front of the class

Charlotte steps into the room a few minutes late. She scans the room quickly for an empty desk, and decides on one closer to the wall, away from others. She scurries there quickly and shrinks down low in her seat, hoping Professor Miller won't dock points for her tardy.

Edith looked over at the door as another student entered the classrom, she then pursed her lips "Your quite Late Miss Bell, but thats your loss" Edith said sternly

Sh then waited for Savannah to come up to the front of the class

Raising an eyebrow at the late girl, Savannah shook her head. She hadn't been late, and her head was threatening to explode.

Pulling herself up and out of her chair, she headed up to the front of the class, twirling her wand around in her fingers. "Ready," she announced clearly, resisting the urge to wince at the volume of her voice.

Charlotte sneers when Savannah looks at her. She scoffs to herself and watches as the girl gets ready to perform a spell.

Typical Gryffindor, always trying to one-up everyone. Charlotte holds her head high waits for some magic to happen.

Edith smiled at Savannah who said she was ready, " Ok then, so you must aim your wand at the pots then quickly swishing your wand in the direction of the wooden figure, at which time you will say the incantation Oppugno"

Edith then nodded at the girl indicating she could begin when she was ready

Nodding at the Proffesor, Savannah tossed the Slytherin girl a little smirk before she turned towards the dummy and the pots. Pointing her wand at the pots, she quickly swished it towards the dummy, saying, "Oppungo."

The pots sailed through the air towards the dummy, glancing off the wooden object's chest instead of smacking straight into it as the dark haired girl had hoped. Nevertheless rather proud of her achievements, Savannah smiled, sitting back down at her desk.

Edith watched as the girl performed the spell, she was quite impressed by her efforts " Well Done Miss Lerran, a beauitful cast just keeping practing to perfect the skill" Edith then looked at other girl in the class

"Ok Miss Bell up you come please"

Charlotte stood up from her seat and grabbed her wand, feeling relaxed. DADA was one of the subjects Charlotte always passed effortlessly, and she hoped this year would be the same.

She stepped up to the front of the room, and looked at the wooden figure. She pointed her wand at the pots, swished her wand in the general direction of the figure, and said, "Oppugno".

Edith watched as the other girl cast the spell, she did it quite well " Beautiful cast Miss Bell" Edith said with a smile, she then looked up at the clock behind her desk

"Ah it would appear that the lesson over for today, so I shall see you all next lesson"

Charlotte smirks at the Professor's comment, and then gathers up her wand and her bag.

She walks out the classroom with a bounce in her step, planning on taking a nice trip down to the lake.
