Another Year, Another Coffee

Alexa walked into the staff room and found it empty. She walked over to the sofa and sipped her black coffee which she brought with her. She opened the newspaper which was on the coffee table and started to read it.

Laetitia waltzed into the staff room and sighed. It was yet another grueling day of teaching, and she felt as if she had a headache. Rubbing her temples, she grabbed herself a bottle of light champagne, poured herself a glass and sat down next to the other teacher there. "Hello," she greeted.

Alexa looked to see another Professor walk into the staffroom and sit next to her.

"Well Hello Profressor Bellamy, How was your day?" Alexa asked her.

Lae's smile faded just a little bit. "I'm fine, thank you," she replied, taking a sip of her champagne, "please, call me Laetitia." She crossed her legs. "How are you doing, Professor Thorpe? I hope the children aren't being so difficult around you."

"The students know not to mess with me. I told them that When I started Teaching last year. This is my second year of teaching. I'm fine at this moment in time thank you and Please call me Alexa. How Are the students with you then Laetitia?" Alexa asked as she took a sip of her coffee.

Lae chuckled. "Sometimes, you have to be kind to be cruel," she admitted, "I'm being nice to them for now, but wait until exam time." She pursed her lips. "The students are doing wonderfully - Miss Whelan and Miss Sokol had the most delightful debate in class today," she replied, grinning.

"Miss Whelan? I would love to here it then!" Alexa said to her.

Lae pursed her lips. She knew that Alexa was rather fond of her, so she chose to go on. "Well," she began, "I was beginning the lesson with a lecture on Bubble Head Charms, and Miss Whelan suggested we try it with a gas spell to see if it could be made offensive. We ran out of time... do you mind telling her she has my permission to experiment with it out of class?"

"Of course. I'm glad she is doing well in your lessons. So tell me, what are your hobbies and such Laetitia?" Alexa asked her as she took another sip of her coffee.

Lae laughed. "Well... I love astronomy," she noted, taking a sip of her champagne, "I also like plants... do you remember I used to teach Herbology last year? It was fun while it lasted."
