Flying Lesson 2; Second Year

Charlotte's stomach was full of butterflies and she bit her lip nervously as she walked down to the Flying Field. Once again, another lesson of Flying she'd have to endure, and more of that annoying Savannah girl. She realized no one else was outside yet, and for a second her heart skipped, hoping that perhaps the lesson had been canceled and she wouldn't have to fly after all.

Scowling, Charlotte decided that wasn't very likely. She sat down on the grass, pulling some of it out of the ground. She wasn't looking forward to this lesson, and assumed she'd make just as much a fool of herself as she had in the last Flying lesson.

With a sigh, she layed back on the grass and stared up at the sky.

Feet crunching against the snow, Savannah headed towards the Flying Field, ignoring the large and very noticeable presence of the Whomping Willow and the lack thereof of Ross. Clenching her hands into fists, she stopped by the the Slytherin's head, being careful not to have her shadow in her face, "I'm surprised you didn't drop the class, seeing as you're so scared of heights."

Charlotte sneered at Savannah and took a few steps back.

"For your information, I am a Slytherin. I don't quit anything, even if I don't particularly enjoy it." She rolled her eyes and turned away.

She knew she was lying to herself. The only reason she hadn't dropped this class was because her Father forbid it. He couldn't have a perfect Quidditch playing son, so a girl who could at least steer a broom would have to do.

"That makes no sense," Savannah said slowly, shaking her head, "Slytherin's are supposed to be cunning, resourceful, ambitious. What does that have to so with not giving up? That's more of a Hufflepuff thing than anything else."

Stepping towards Charlotte, Savannah cooed softly, an undertone of malice behind her voice, "I think this poor little girlie's confused about her house values. Isn't that just precious."

(OOC: nuhhh Slytherin's are ambitious which means they don't give up as well! Mannn idk, that's what it says on the Pottermore thing about Slytherin.)

With a snort of laughter, Charlotte rolls her eyes.

"Listen, I'm not in the mood for your crap today. Just leave it at that, alright?"

Just then, a black cat comes streaking towards Charlotte and leaps up into her arms, mewing softly.

"Farley, what are you doing out here?" She laughs and gives him a quick scratch behind the ears before setting him back down on the ground, where he proceeds to run off in pursuit of a butterfly.

"But where's the fun in that?" Savannah asked, tilting her head as she answered her own question, "None."

About to continue, her gaze fell on the black cat, her throat closing. Her face stony, she turned away, stomping towards the brooms, her thoughts consumed of Ross.

Storm walked to the flying field. She was muttering things to herself under her breath. She had no clue why, but Storm felt like she needed to remember something, but didn't know what. She nodded briefly to the others.

Aver sighed and walked toward the field and saw most of her students were there she smiled at them and looked at them.

" Good afternoon class, today You'll be learning how to hoop dive" Aver said with a smile she looked at the students and she placed her hands on her hips.

" Now a quick question before we begin, can anyone tell me what hoop diving is?" Aver asked them with a small smile she wondered what the Slytherin and Gryffindor girls were talking about she shrugged inwardly.

Glancing over at the professor, she tilted her head, thinking about the question. Shrugging, she asked, "Is it when you dive through hoops?"

There was no way that can be right, Savannah thought, scrunching up her nose, it's too obvious.

Aver blinked as the Gryffindor girl shrugged " Yes ms. Lerran that's correct, now will everyone please mount their brooms so we can try the hoop diving please" Aver said kindly she wondered what they were talking about she knew it was none of her business but she sighed and put the thoughts in the back of her head.

Aver blinked and looked around to see if any of her other students were going to come she shrugged inwardly than she turned to face her students.

Charlotte took a timid step closer to her broom and placed her hand over it, saying "up". The broom flew up into her hand and she tightened her grip on it, not looking forward to having to fly up so high up in the air with the goal posts.

She mounted the broom and waited for the next instruction, determined to not let any of her fear show this lesson.

Eyes widening at her right answer, Savannah grinned, clapping her hands together happily. Nodding at the professor, she scurried towards her broom, quickly raising her hand for the broom to jump into. Humming softly, she jumped onto it, flying around in circles around Charlotte as she waited.

Aver had to smile at the Gryffindor, Aver grabbed her broom and flew up to one of the goal posts she Hummed and looked at her students she remembered her first time flying and she loved it, Aver looked at the girls and hummed " Okay now what I want you to is try to go through all the posts before the timer goes off, now I'll yell for you to stop when the timer goes off" Aver said with a smile.

" Now the timer'll go off in five minutes and I'll count how many posts you've flown through" She said with a smile " Now who'll like to go first?" Aver asked them with a small smile she looked at the ground and sighed she than looked back at the girls and waited for one of them to answer her.

Grinning at the professor, she swivelled her broom to allow her to continue watching her as she flew towards the goal posts. "I'll go first!" she announced, raising her hand confidently, not scared of being up in the air.

Flying towards the professor, she hummed softly to herself, grinning.

Who knows, maybe if you're lucky, you'll crash into the tree again.

Her grin sliding off her face, Savannah shivered slightly but kept calm, concentrating on flying through the goal posts, ignoring Ava.

Aver blinked as Ms. Lerran raised her hand and said she'd like to go first Aver nodded " Okay Ms. Lerran, try to go through all of the posts okay" Aver said with a small smile she saw the smile fade of the girls face Aver blinked slightly but she shrugged it off, Aver looked at all the posts and she smiled " Okay on the count of three Ms. Lerran" Aver said she had the timer in her hand and she waited " One, Two, Three!" she shouted and clicked the timer and she waited for Ms. Lerran.

Nodding, Savannah narrowed her eyes in concentration as she looked over at the Quidditch Pitch hoops determinedly. She was going to this. If not to show up Charlotte below, than to prove to Ava that she wasn't worthless and all bad luck. She could do good things.

At her instruction, Savannah flew as fast as she could towards and through the hoops.
