Point of View || Astronomy Year 4 Lesson 3 Empty Point of View || Astronomy Year 4 Lesson 3

Astronomy class always threw off Rhys' sleep cycle. It wasn't that he couldn't stay up late; it was just that he couldn't stay up late one night, and then easily get up early the rest of the week. Regardless of this fact, the redhead had come to appreciate the class, despite its lateness. Hogwarts castle was almost... tranquil when most of its occupants were sleeping. (Or at least, feigning sleep.)

Rhys was the first to class that night, and he found himself standing at the edge of the tower, looking up at the night sky. There were so many stars and planets, and apparently space debris. Some believed that people lived on some of the other planets.

"I wonder if they're looking back at us?" Rhys murmured to himself in Russian.

Shutting her book close as she entered the Astronomy Tower, Lena let her fingers trail over the cover. It was another Astronomy lesson, which, for the first time in half a year, irritated her; she had become accustomed to spending her nights in places of mist wandering around like a lost hippogriff, trying to search for her grandmother again.

The chances of finding her was extremely slim, sadly.

Her eyes rested on her ginger beloved, and she blushed, thinking about what Enya had told her. "They are looking back at us," she replied, sighing heavily, "perhaps we might not notice, but the stars could be manifestations of the dead."

Thomas walked into the classroom and was surprised to see that the professor wasn't here, he was usually here and Thomas was always late. Thomas sighed and took a seat. He got out what he would need for this class. Damn this was probably the first time he was early to this classroom.

Rhys turned to look at Lena as she joined him. "That's not quite what I meant," he said. His gaze lingered on her face only a moment before looked back at the stars. "I meant other people, like us. Some people think they live other planets.

    "Maybe we are both, right,
" Rhys suggested. "Perhaps, when people die, they are reborn on a different world, and they study us the way that we study them. That way, we're always looking out for each other."

The redhead pulled his gaze from the sky as another student joined them. "Hello," he said simply, his English (as always) heavily accented. A hand came up to scratch his head as he glanced once more at Lena, before he finally took a seat of his own.

"Perhaps," Lena frowned, "but I frown on extraterrestrial beings. Perhaps it is my human nature to fear other, stronger species than us."

Trying to bite her tongue on speaking of the Dreamtrails, Lena sighed. Of course, she did not manage to hold her thoughts back, like every other time she spoke to him. "I believe in the Dreamtrails," Lena added, "where you can watch everyone when you die. I suppose... the planets are plausible too. And when Illusionists like me wander in their sleep." To suppress an urge to rest her head on his shoulder, she sighed heavily once more, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger. "I prefer the planets idea, actually. Though technically, the Dreamtrails are a fact, not an idea."

Turning around, she waved at Thomas before following Rhys, plopping down on the chair next to him.

Hades walked into the classroom and saw the professor wasn't there. "Finally" he muttered under his breath. He saw his friend Thomas and decided to take a seat next to him. "Hey man, I think this is the first class I'm not late to. Considering I was late to mostly all my classes" Hades said to Thomas.

Adele twirled as she came into the Tower, giggling. She had, for once, remembered that tonight was Astronomy, and it wasn't one night before or one night too late, just this night. She looked at all her classmates, and flashed Rhys a smile before sitting down by herself.

"Alright Class," Colin clapped as he walked into the room, "I'm glad you are all here, I hope you enjoyed a good break, but I think its time we get right down into business. "

He flicked his wand at the board and the word Uranus appeared.

"Now, I want everyone to give me one fact about the planet. Lets go, anyone can start."

Rhys offered a small smile to Adele as the girl entered the classroom. The girl was admittedly... strange, but seemed harmless enough. Giving a wave to another boy who entered next, the redhead then turned his attention to the professor as he walked in and started the class.

"Uranus, it iz on its side, yes?" Rhys answered. "All other planets are more straight, but Uranus iz tilted." Though, the boy's English was still heavily accented with an odd blend of a Russian and a Welsh accent, he was much comprehensible than he had been at the beginning of the school year. That is, if he didn't talk too quickly.

Lena raised an eyebrow at the Gryffindor girl who waved at Rhys. Wasn't she the one that was petrified of the Pineapple Army or something of the like? Either way, she narrowed her eyes at her before listening to the Professor. She wanted to chuckle at the joke about Uranus, but she thought it wasn't appropriate now.

Her hands flew to her parchment, quickly taking notes on what Rhys was saying. She then added, "Technically, the Earth is tilted too... but yes, Uranus is tilted. It is the seventh planet from the Sun, and it was discovered by Herschel in seventeen eighty-one. It was named after the Greek god of the sky, which fits because most of the surface seems blue from the surface."

Colin nodded his head and smiled at the two who had spoken up.

"Yes, thank you," he nodded, "You are both completely correct." He raised his eyebrow at the rest of the room, "Come on now, no one else? I'm quite sure all of you could come up with something, I am still waiting here."

Even in her final class of the day, Iva ended up being late.

She opened the door and let out a heavy sigh, more annoyed with herself than annoyed at this point. She nodded at the professor, acknowledging that she had probably lost the house the cup single handedly.

Not to mention she had almost fought the last time she was here.

Looking at the board while she sat, Iva noted the planet, "It is named after Greek king of the sky, correct?

Colin sighed and continued his lesson for a whatever time was left, giving a stern look to Ms. Popov for her latness but nothing more.

After what seemed like no time at all, the clock hands had moved thier way around the instrument, and it was time to go.

"I want a report on Uranus, whatever aspect you wish to focus on at the begining of next lesson, other than that, you're free to go."

Waving his hand the class was dismissed.

[OOC - sorry for being like the laziest professor in the world her. I swear next lesson I'll try to actually remember to teach something. I always just seem to stall and then run out of time.]
