Astronomy Lesson One

Casey entered her seventh and last empty classroom for the day and nearly screamed in frustration. Why the heck was she always first? She sat down huffily in a desk and set out to cover evey inch of her left leg with drawings of plants, seeming to grow in a riot up her leg, while singing Taylor Swift songs to herself.

Jamie heard someone scream and she thought it sounded like Alex and ran to the class to see the girl from Gryffindor. "Why did you scream, your scream sort of sounded like my friend Alex" Jamie asked. "Hi by the way" Jamie said walking fully into the classroom. Jamie took a seat and waited for the professor.

Casey looked up at Jamie, startled. "Did I scream out loud? I didn't mean to. I've been first to all my classes and for some reason it's really frustrating me. I'm bored and I feel like a teacher's pet. Sorry for startling you. My bad."

Colin came into his classroom at a slightly quicker pass upon hearing a slight commotion without before his arrival.

"Hello Ladies," he said looking around the room. There didn't seem to be anything to worry about. "All it well I trust?"

Casey blushed as the Professor came in. Apparently he had heard her yell in frustration too. Wow, I seriously did not mean to do that.
"Yes Professor, everything's fine," she respoded casually. Then, attempting to pretend she was anywhere but there, Casey resumed drawing a leafy vine up the side of her calf.

Stormy slipped into the class with a silent manner that was associated with two things in this class-stars and Stormy. For a brief second, she wondered what Astronomy in the rain would be like. A cool rain constantly falling on you. It'd be nice. She greeted the professor in her usual raspy whisper voice. "Hello, Professor." For another moment of thought, she wondered if anyone was taken aback by her voice. All her classes so far, she'd been surprised that she was still so silent. Since Liam still hadn't returned (Stormy was beginning to be worried literally sick), she'd spent much of her summer fighting her dad. Thankfully, she wasn't just a freaking Gryffindor for nothing. She was brave enough to stand up to him, and had learned enough from her mother to be fairly snappy. And, of course, speak in French.

Jamie nodded at the girl. "Yeah you did" Jamie said. The professor came in and Jamie nodded her head. "Hello professor" Jamie greeted him. "Yup everything is fine" Jamie said to him. Jamie saw a girl from Gryffindor walk in and Jamie just nodded her hello to her.

"Good," Colin nodded, "Well then we can get started studying todays topic."

he grinned as he wandered to the front of the room.

"Now if you'll all please focus, Today we are studying Mercury."

Juniper opened the door as quietly as she could, muttering a string of apologies as she made her way to the nearest empty seat. She took out her things, constantly keeping her head down. Her eyes flicked up once or twice, and she noticed a couple of kids she recognized, including one bubbly Gryffindor who was friends with Liam.

"No problem Ms. Carrow," Colin smiled at the girl, "Though for being Tardy I shall ask you to pay the price - tell me one thing you know about Mercury? Anything will be fine."

He leaned on his desk as he waited for an answer.
