Feeding Time

So, this what she was reduced to. A server for the acts that didn't even get airtime? What foolishness. Her mind had began to wander, trying to figure out what was in the cages, softly probing each mind she came to. She laid down each of the bowls, careful to keep to the instructions that Nik had left for each cage. She paused at the biggest cage, the one she'd stopped at before, frowning at the list. 5 bowls? What was this thing, a king?

Her mind slowly probed through the bars, brushing against the mind inside. She made a confused face, her brown eyes rising as she cocked her head to the side.

That mind felt... familiar?

She placed three of the five bowls through the bars, careful not to touch the vervain. She hesitated, her hand rising to search the air inside the cage, unsure of what she'd find. It wasn't... well... it wasn't completely animal.

Hello? she asked mentally.

Aurmerle sat up at the first sign of her presense. Even through sleep he'd felt he drawing closer. He opened his eyes and glanced at her curiously as his mouth watered at the scent of the blood. His body craved it now, his fangs were already painfully sharp against his gums.

As she began to poke against him mind he allowed her far enough to know it was him. He needed her to know he was here so he could get out. He was bored of fighting on schedule now. He wanted bloodshed and he wanted it now. "Hello Amora." He thought pushing the thought into her head.

"Aurmerle?!" She asked, both mentally and out loud. "What are you doing here?" She looked around anxiously, before glancing back through the bars. "This is not..." Her eyes searched the empty air for him, her fingers searching until they caressed his cheek. "Non dovresti essere qui, mio amore*..." She whispered. Her eyes ran over the room again, worry clouding her eyes. "How did they get you in here?" She asked softly.

"Sleeping." He replied mentally. He didn't feel like explaining how weak he had been, when he'd been taken by a mere mortal against his will. His eyes closed and he sighed out a breath at her touch. It felt like so long ago that they had been together. A year in his time wasn't long but it felt like a century being trapped here in this cage with human blood shoved under your nose.

"Neither should you. A moment of weakness." He said his eyes trailing down to the blood at the bottom of the cage. "I'm sorry." And with those words he tucked in. Drinking the blood down in seconds, instantly regretting it. With a small moan he sat back against the back of the cage disgusted with himself.
