For as long as Kait knows it, Kait has been living with her mother alone. Her mother had been doing drugs since she was a toddler, she was drinking before that, but became a dealer around the age of six. Kait used to go out of her way to try to make her mother notice her, but eventually Kait gave up and fought with her mother constantly.

When Kait went to Durmstrang, she viewed it as a break from her mother. Finding out that Parselmouth is typically a dark gift, Kait quickly kept quiet about it for a while. Quickly, Kait fit in the best she could and set herself in the Seven Devils.

When kait was fourteen, she was kidnapped along with her twin for six months. Kait was tortured, and well, everything you can expect with being kidnapped. Her sister and Kait escaped, but spent a week with the healers.
