Into the Mind|| Sixth Year Empty Into the Mind|| Sixth Year

Post by Ninette Fontaine Tue Jul 31, 2012 3:13 pm

Ninette stomped into the classroom and flopped herself carelessly onto one of the matts, glaring around at her surroundings.

School seemed more pointless this year htan it had... ever. And Ninette had been a girl to find every class pointless. Even in her first year, when all those children - though they had become her 'friends'- were cooing excitedly about the up coming year, Ninette was pouting about having to come back.

    Now she was even more.

She wasn't even sure why she had even bothered coming to this class. SHe was tempted just to skip it.

Though she supposed at least the Professor was interesting.

He'd had to practically drag himself out of bed today. But really, that wasn't any different from what Julian had been doing since he'd gotten beaten up.

Staggering into the classroom, he gripped the doorframe, staring around blankly, barely noticing Ninette's presence as Nightmare wound her way around his legs. He felt like he was going to fall over. Swallowing hard, he rubbed at the dark circles underneath his eyes before taking a few cautious steps into the room. At least he could walk.

Plopping down on one of the mats, he stretched out, lying down, his blue eyes staring up at the ceiling. Nightmare padding towards him, she jumped up onto his chest, nuzzling against him. Flinching, he glanced down at the kitten before relaxing.

Ninette looked up at the boy, before frowning at the cat. She of course recongized it as belonging to Karma Black, but decided not to comment on it. She could care less.

"You look aweful you know that," she said glancing at him. The words were blunt, almost harsh.

But the mere fact that she bothered to take hte time to point it out, actually meant that she cared. Not that she was going to admit it.

Glancing over at Ninette, Julian shrugged nonchalantly. It was true. He noticed it every time he looked in the mirror. And really, he didn't care about what he looked like. It wasn't going to fix his problems, was it?

"I've noticed, yes. But whether I look pretty or not, my sister's still gone. So, it doesn't really matter." Glancing at the kitten on his chest who was making breathing difficult, he pulled her off of him softly, pushing himself up into a sitting position, frowning into his lap.

Ninette frowned slightly. She had forgotten briefly about the small girl.

"She's pretty spunky," she said after a moment, "I'm sure she'll be fine."

It was as comforting at the girl was capable, and wanted to be. It just... didn't work any other way. Shrugging her shoulders, she folded her legs in front of her and closed her eyes, making a show of meditating to at the very least get out of this converstation.

Hugging himself, Julian sighed softly. She had to be. He didn't know what he'd do if something happened to her. Ever since she'd disappeared, his mind had been playing overtime, coming up with a million different scenarios.

What if their dad had found her? He'd almost killed him, what would stop him from killing Dilly? And she didn't have a half-vampire who'd Marked her, feeling her emotions and pain.

Mentally slapping the thoughts away, he closed his eyes, crossing his legs and trying his best to concentrate on something much more positive.

Ondrea made her way into Mind Arts class, frowning slightly at the atmosphere she'd walked into. Julian still looked worse for wear, which made the girl feel rather more unhappy than she would have expected. She'd given up on determining just what or why she felt for the boy, however.

Taking a seat on one of the mats, Ondrea stretched a bit. "Morning," she calmly greeted the other two. She wasn't about to mention whatever was going on with Ninette, either.

Mora... had absolutely no idea what to feel.

    So she felt nothing.

"Hello class." She said, her voice soft. She was pleased to see they'd followed her instructions, for once. She'd always had a certain fondness for her sixth year class, not that she'd tell any of them. "It's nice to see you all following instructions."

"Continue your meditation for a few more minutes, and then we can begin."

Lisette entered the classroom as quietly as she could, noticing that the other kids had already started meditating, and in most cases, that required some form of silence.

She took a seat at one of the mats, looking around to see if anyone else had noticed her enter, and began meditating, hoping furiously that she wasn't about to get in trouble for being tardy. With this professor, however, she entirely doubted it.

Had he been in a different mindset, Julian might have found meditating relaxing and calming. But in his frame of mind, he was only able to meditate for a few minutes before failing miserably.

Because somehow, Julian managed to falling asleep. Bowing his head into his chest, his mind was curiously empty, the meditation earlier helping to keep the nightmares that kept him awake at night at bay.

Nightmare peering up at him, she let out a little mrrow that sounded suspiciously like laughter, but allowed him to continue sleeping, looking from student to student to professor and then beginning the whole cycle over again, flicking her tail.

Ondrea kept her eyes shut when the professor entered, focusing on her meditation, instead. The scent didn't seem as strong as it had the previous year, though, perhaps she had grown used to it. It would never be a wholly pleasant smell, but at least it wasn't as bad as veela - no one with a sensitive nose could possibly grow accustomed to that.

Subconsciously, Ondrea was aware of both Lisette's entrance and the change in Julian's breathing as he drifted to sleep. Still, she focused inward, drifting on waves of calm.

Ninette opened her eyes for a moment to glance and shrug at the professor before going back to what she had been doing.

Which was shoving every useless thought she'd ever had out of the way, every thought she deemed useless out of the way, struggling to forget... well everything.

It was nicer in her head when it was empty there.

Disappearing into her office, the woman tossed a basketball at Rousseau, giving a warning look to the kitten, who looked ready to bat it away. The black kitten only gave a decidedly amused meow as the ball landed directly in Julian's lap. "Today, we will be doing something more... kinesthetic." Grinning, the woman clapped her hands, ordering them all to their feet. She tossed a baseball in Montgomery's direction, and a volleyball in Fontaine's, and a dodgeball at Josse.

"Pick a sport, and we'll go from there." Nodding, the woman's brown eyed gaze went back to Julian. "And do try to stay awake. If you fall asleep now, you'll get slaughtered." She smiled good naturedly at the boy, however, and her tone stayed teasing. She was acting more like an 18 year old, the weight of 200 years having been lifted. "Each of you gets to vote. Volleyball, Dodgeball, Basketball, or Baseball."

Ninette raised an eyebrow at the professor. Well this was certainly an interesting turn of events.

Then again, anything was more interesting than playing keep away with her memories.

For once, he didn't dream. He simply fell asleep, and even though the boy was a ridiculously light sleeper, he somehow managed to continue sleeping for at least a few minutes.

That was until he was startled awake, blue eyes flying open as he glanced around him, confusion written all over his face before he looked down at the basketball in his lap, picking it up to spin around between his fingers, his gaze pulled up towards their professor. Letting out a gentle snort of laughter, he gave his head a small shake.

His favourite sport had always been football, but seeing as that wasn't an option... "Baseball," Julian said, stifling a yawn. "You get to hit things. Stress relief." His blue gaze flitted towards Ondrea as he spoke, but it was only for a moment before they were trained on Professor Kirke again.

Lisette jumped as a dodgeball landed in her hands. She stared at the thing, the rough rubbery texture feeling odd against her fingertips. She looked up at Professor Kirke in slight disbelief, then shrugged, looking around at the rest of the class, "Baseball, I guess. It seems like you're less likely to break a nose."
