Starlight || Sixth Years Empty Starlight || Sixth Years

Post by Aphrodite Kallistos Sun Aug 05, 2012 6:43 am

Aria stood against the railing of the Astronomy tower, gazing up into the night sky. No one else had arrived, yet. The blonde wasn't really surprised. Most of the world was sleeping or half-asleep at such an hour - getting up for a class must have seemed a chore for some.

She had never really needed much sleep, herself.

Idly picking out shapes and constellations, Aria waited for class to start. Surely, the professor would eventually arrive, if no one else.

Rubbing her eyes to wipe away any eye crust that had been collected from her eyes after she had awoken from her nap. Charlotte walked up the stairs, her legs going up the stairs slowly as she was still tired. She'd go slightly to the right or to the left, almost appearing near drunk - even if she wasn't. Yawning, the Slytherin entered the classroom to only realize there was only one person there.

Shrugging, she mumbled a tired greeting as she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes for a moment.

Colin rushed into the sixth years class a strained smile on his face as he did so. "Forgive me for being late. Family emergency I had to attend to."

Rolling his shoulders he looked at the two girls and grined.

"Right, this year we will be begining with the sun - anyone wish to start us off with anything they know about that entity?"

Aria didn't turn her gaze from the sky as Charlotte and the professor entered. She was too busy piecing together patterns of glittering gems against a blanket of charcoal silk.

"It's a star," she murmured dreamily. "The closest star to Earth, but not the brightest. Demons believe it burns with hellfire..."

Colin tilted his head at the young girls answer.

"Well I am not aware of Demon folklore, not my area of expertice, you are quite corret Ms. Kennet, the sun is a star, not only the closet to our planet, but the only star in our solar system. All the other stars we see, tiny dots are lightyears away."

"Ms. Kennet is also correct, it is only closeness that makes our sun seem so much bigger. Our sun is actually quite a small star, all things considered."

"However, we are completely reliant on the sun for light and warmth. But hte ball in the sky does many more things then just keep us warm. Does anyone know what a solar flair is?"
