It was breakfast, and in the middle of the Great Hall stood a table full of food. It had no occupants sitting on the side chairs, for they had good reason not to.

The Uchitel Prefect, due to a dare and partly because of her own boredom, laid herself down in the middle of the table, artfully pushing all the food served for the day out of her way. For the past half an hour, she had nibbled on a piece of bread that she had obtained from one of the nearby tables, eyeing passers-by as they glared at her unsanitary behaviour.

Why would it be called unsanitary? She hadn't even made a mess on the table! If she dropped a crumb, she would have muttered a cleaning charm and be done with it.

Katerina got to the Great Hall later than she had intended to, but her bed had felt too comfortable that morning, and, for the first time in months, all she'd felt like doing was sleeping the whole day. But classes were a must, not like she would've missed them, anyway, and breakfast was, supposedly, the most important meal of the day. She couldn't miss that either.

For some reason, all the tables seemed crowded, much more crowded than the usual, and she soon found out why: people were avoiding a certain table, where a blonde, who she recognized as the Uchitel prefect, was laying down in the middle of.

The girl made her way to that same table and took a seat there, putting some of the food, that had been pushed aside, on her plate. Some students gave her strange glances, but she simply rolled her eyes and ignored them. Was it weird that someone was lying down on top of a table full of food? Well, duh. But Katerina wanted her breakfast and she'd be much more comfortable there than in one of the overcrowded ones. She didn't fancy the Prefect being on the table, but, honestly, she couldn't see why people seemed to be making a big fuss over it.

"So, any specific reason why you're up there or just felt like it?" she asked nonchalantly, taking a bite of her apple.
