Quidditch. The one word that Lora associates with happiness all the time. There was just something about wanting to soar high and not knowing exactly where she was headed. And how could she forget the wind? Of course, there was a long way to go, but she already knew one thing.

Flying would be her favourite love in her life.

As she waited with the other students for the Professor to arrive, her curious blue eyes scanned the Quidditch pitch, hoping to catch the sight of anything unusual. Instead, her gaze fell on a brown haired boy a few feet away, playing with another girl.

    Dylan Veer.

Her lips turned into a small pout as she realized he had not talked to her all day. She had tried to say a 'hi' to him at their previous class, but her eyes had just widened in front of him and she had sprinted. Basically, she thought she had made a fool of herself.

Lora's grip on her broomstick tightened slightly and she flopped on the ground with a sigh. Why did Dylan have to be so cute? Why couldn't she just be crushing on any other boy? Still, his smile was infectious and she liked that.

Finally she tore her gaze away, and frowned as she traced random patterns on the ground. Her black hair covered her blush filled cheeks, and she had taken off her robes due to the heat.

She needed the Professor to get here soon, so she could fly away from the one boy she really liked.

"Ha, I beat you!" Ray shouted, whooping and hollering. Dylans lips quirked and flew towards her, while shaking his head. "I let you beat me," He corrected. Dylan actually didn't let Ray beat him, but he didn't bother to put a whole lot of energy to racing on brooms in the first place.

At least, that is what he told himself as he resisted the urge to sneak glances at the black haired witch only some odd number of feet away. Dylan had first noticed her a few weeks ago. She had been shy -well, she was always shy around him for some reason-, and her quiet personality made him wonder how she was sorted in Slushatel in the first place.

Though Dylan wondered the same thing about himself at times.

"Dylan!" Ray yelled, breaking Dylan from his thoughts. The Slushatel blinked at Ray, and looked around, at first confused who called out his name. Ray snapped her fingers in front of his searching face and he blinked again, but this time at her. "Oh... Sorry," He muttered, running his hands through his hair. "Got distracted." Ray's teeth showed as the Hrabrost gave him a wide grin. Sensing a teasing from Ray, Dylan hurriedly added, "Lets race again." Now like every other Hrabrost Dylan had met, Ray eagerly agreed.

A few other people joined in their race, two out of three of them Dylan didn't even know the name or house they belonged too. The person he did know was a Muggleborn Slushatel, who'd he help adjust to being a wizard in the beginning of the school year.

The winners of the broom races was shared between Ray and a Hitrost that Dylan felt the boy was a bit to adventurous for his own good. The Hitrost was constantly doing odd tricks on the broom, more than a few times dangerously close to falling off the broom. But somehow the Hitrost recovered and just laughed it off, declaring to do it again. Dylan honestly thought the Hitrost was on something.

Throughout all of this, he was sneaking glances at the black haired beauty. Of course, nobody noticed. Nobody questioned why sometimes he lost races when winning was right in his grip.

Suddenly grinning, Dylan stopped the other racers and asked them if they wanted somebody else to join. He used the excuse that if they asked someone to join, it would be an even number.

The dark haired male flew towards Alora after the agreement of the other racers. He stopped right behind her and tapped on her shoulder. "You know, we could always use another person to race," Dylan asked her with a crooked smile.

Lora's blue eyes widened in surprise as she turned towards the source of the voice behind her and for a moment, didn't know what to respond. It was probably the first time the Slushatel boy was talking to her willingly and she didn't want to scare him off. Again.

With a nod of her head, she replied in the affirmative and gave him a small grin.

Taking her broomstick and getting up from the ground, she tried not to stare at Dylan as they made their way to the other team members he was racing with. She knew she'd be back to her talkative old self once they were in the air, because that's where her comfort zone was.

"So are we being put into pairs? Is that how you guys were playing?" Lora asked, just wanting an excuse to talk to the dark haired boy. "I haven't raced much before, though I have practiced quite a bit. And yes, I know you all are perhaps better but this is something I'm really good at as well."

Realizing she was rambling, the black haired girl smiled sheepishly and a blush covered her cheeks. "I'm sorry," she mumbled, pushing her hair behind her ears nervously and her grip on her broomstick didn't loosen one bit.

She almost wished that Kait was here, knowing that she'd already be messing with Dylan by now.
