Broomsticks and Bednobs, Transfig Lesson 3, 3rd Years

Casey skipped into Transfig, another favorite class of hers. Disappointed that there was no one to talk to, she put her things on a desk and sat down. Bored, she took out a book o defensive hexes and began to read.

Chance walked into the room, accidentally banging into the wall. Laughing with embarassment, he trotted over to where Casey was sitting and sat down next to her, pulling out his wand and rolling it back and forth on the desk.

Casey glanced up as someone banged into a wall upon entering the classroom. Seeing it was Chance, she stifled a giggle behind her hand. She had a straight face when he looked up again, coming to sit hext to her. "Hey Chance," she said slyly. "Fancy bumping into you here." She giggled. "Sorry, couldn't help it. It was such the perfect opportunity."

Aragorn slipped into the classroom and into a seat at random, pulling out his books and things for the class, setting his wand on the table at the ready to use and learn. He glanced over at the other two students and gave a little wave before drifting into his own little world doodling on his notebook.

Alexander walks into tranfiguration, one of his top subjects and smiles as he sees his two closest friends will be there with him. he sits down next to aragorn and opens his book. "so did i miss anything interesting?" he decided to let aragorn know he was sitting there since he moves silently and knows aragorn probably didnt see him either.

Startled, Aragorn jumped a bit and gave Alex an incredulous look, humor in his gray-green eyes. He shook his head and rolled his eyes as he gave his friend a playful nudge, "Creepy bastard, you are." He ran a hand through his hair and stretched, "I'm never going to get used to that."

Alexander laughs slightly. "people rarely do, and yes i am thats why im in slytherin." he gives a small smile "it gives me pride you know?" he laughs a little and doodles on his notebook, revealing cuts, some fresh some old on his arm.

Lynx walked into the classrom carrying several plastic bags filled with swamp mud, he placed them down on his desk and turned to face the students with a smile "Ok guys im hoping today you will find this lesson fun, becuase we shall turning swamp mud into soft drink"

Lynx then pulled out his wand " Firstly lets just practice the wand movements, you hold your wand loosely then swish it from side to side and say the incantantion Palus Bibere, so just practice the movement a couple of times before we actually try attempting the spell"

Daniel runs into the class and sits down, embarassed. "sorry i'm late professor..." he pulls out his wand and notebook and is blushing furiously.. he didn't know anyone here.

Casey let her wand dangle loosely from her fingers, as instructed, and swished it back and forth a couple times. "Palus Bibere," she chanted, though not actually attempting the spell. She covered her nose with her hand as the stink of the mud reached her. She wrinkled her sensitive nose, hoping they'd get on with the spell soon.

Aragorn raised his eyebrows up and picked up his wand gently, taking the motions slowly and practicing it. He didn't bother saying the words yet, if he did he knew he'd accidentally cast it. He still didn't have control over that yet, even though he was in his third year of Hogwarts. He set his wand down a moment and said the incantation, making sure he wasn't even remotely close to touching the Hawthorn stick, "Palus Bibere."

After a while of watching the student practice the movements he decided it was time for them to start the spell "Excellent guys, from what i've seen it looks like you have got it down pat pretty well so now for the fun bit"

Lynx then placed the bags of swamp mud on each of the students desk, he then smiled at them "Alright then, off you go" he said encouragingly

Casey covered her nose even more and tried to breathe through her mouth. SHe hastily flicked her wand and said the spell. "Palus Bibere!" Thankfully, her bag of mud turned into Coke immediately. She looked around. "Now what?"

Aragorn hesitated as the stench forced it's way into his nose. It reeked, and the faster he got rid of the smell the better he would feel. He just hoped it wouldn't stick to his clothes. He waved his wand the way he practiced and said confidently, "Palus Bibere!" He relaxed as the marsh water turned into the lovely soda.

Daniel watches aragorn do the spell first. He smiles and applauds at the job well done, could he do as well. Hed give it a go. "Palus Bibere" his voice is quiet trying to ignore the foul stench. He smiles at the soft drink in front of him.

Lynx observed as the students began transfiguring the swamp mud, he was quite impressed at how well they were doing

"Well done class, im most impressed to see that you have all successfully manged to transfigure your swamp mud. Now can I have a show of hands of who thinks you could drink the soft drink you have in front of you?" Lynx asked gazing around the room

Aragorn wouldn't dare drink it, wrinkling his nose at the thought of it. It would probably taste disgusting, even if it were soda. He looked around to see who would raise their hands and take that challenge, who would be a man as some would put it. He would be surprised if anyone did.

Casey folded her arms and sat back. She'd pass. Not that she didn't have faith in her Transfiguring abilities, she just didn't like soda. Catching Aragorn's eye as he scanned the room, she raised one eyebrow. I dare you, she mouthed to him, grinning hugely.

Lynx smiled at the class it seemed like nobody wanted to try the the drink, he wasn't to surprized "So no takers huh? Well for those who are interested you can actually drink the soft drink however it will taste flat and bland"

Lynx then skimmed through the textbook, then paused and looked back at the class, "Say do you guys want try your drinks or get straight into the textbook work?" he asked

Aragorn glared at Casey and cleared his throat, looking at the soda, "I'll do it." He shook his head and conjured a straw, sending Casey another glare and taking a long drink of it. He let hardly let it settle on his tongue, for fear that the Professor wasn't telling the truth of it.

Daniel wrinkles his nose at the soda. He would never drink this garbage, even if it was real soda. He hated it. Not only was it horrible for you, but it stains your teeth, and he just hates the way it feels. And not to mention, this slop came from swamp mud this made things ten times worse. He glances at gorny and the professor, lets out a small sigh and slides the beverage away.
