Lesson 3 (First Years)

Nyx hummed happily as she clipped the venomous tentacula, dancing and dodging out of its reach whenever it got too close to her flesh and clothes. "No no no," Sh chided, "If you kill me, then who would dare rid you of these nasty pustules?" A loud ringing filled the space, and Nyx jumped. "Oh, my, it's that time all ready?!" She gasped, and sent the vicious plant back to the greenhouse it belonged in with the greenhouse elf.

She cleaned herself up with a dexterous flick of her wand, opened the door of the greenhouse, and set out the basket of today's treats (sugar quills). It was time to educate young minds, and what could be better than that?

Aquila slipped into the Greenhouse, for once actually feeling calm.

"Hullo Professor," he nodded at the other woman before settling into a spot. He looked around a moment before smiling, "What are we learning today?"

She smiled and held up a burlap sack. "Good morning, Aquila. Today I'll be teaching something that was a personal favorite lesson of mine. I think you and your classmates will enjoy it! Oh!" She plucked a sugar quill from the basket, "For being on time." She handed it to the boy.

J. J. came into the Greenhouse perfectly happy that she found the right one this time, and hadn't been late.

In fact there was only one other student there. The new boy who said his name last week, but she wasn't entirely sure she remembered it today. She knew it was slightly odd.

"Hullo Professor," she said softly going to stand by the other boy who she nodded to as well, "Hullo."

Flora walked into the greenhouse.
'Hello Professor.' she greeted her.
'Hey Aquila, Juliet.' she greeted them and took a seat beside Aquila.

Aquila took the candy with a smile, "I knew there was a reason I liked this class. Thank you Professor."

He nodded at the Hufflepuff girl who came in and was about to respond when Flora walked into the room.

"Flora!" he greeted with enthusasim, "Are you read to enter the wonderful world of magical plants?"

"You're welcome, Aquila. I hope to keep your opinion of this class high!"

Nyx smiled at the two girls who entered. "J.J., Flora, welcome ladies! How was your break, all of you?" She asked.

Rebecca allowed her sister to lead the way to the greenhouses. Valerie had obviously gotten her hands on caffeine. Wonderful.

She stepped in, and nodded to the new Professor. "Good morning, Professor Palinder." She murmured, before taking a seat and smiling at the other students.

Seth arrived and seeing that there was plenty of spaces to have a seat in took one near the front. He wanted to be up there where the action was. All these lessons with Asric made him want to experience new things. "Hullo Professor," he said as he took a seat.

Valerie bounced to the greenhouse, caffeine rushing through her veins. She grinned at her sister, knowing what the other girl was thinking.

"Helloooo, Professor!" She greeted with her usual exuberance.

Flora rolled her eyes at Aquila, "Yes yes, I am." Then she noticed Nyx asking them about their holidays, "It was good, Professor, thanks for asking. And yours?"

"Hello Seth, how was your holiday?" She asked.

She grinned when the two almost identical girls walked in, though one seemed sort of like someone had sapped the coloring out of her entirely. Albino, perhaps? "Hello ladies, I don't remember seeing you in my last class." She said.

"Oh, it was pleasant, Flora, I got settled and explored the village a bit. I've never been to Hogsmeade before."

Impatient for the beginning of the actual lesson, Rebecca raised her hand and politely asked, "So what are we doing today, Professor?" Val would probably feel her restlessness, but there was no way the woman could notice anything but her diplomacy.
