Lesson 4 (Second Years)

Briony sat behind her desk drinking a very strong cup of coffee, she was probably going to need it for the lesson ahead, wondering if she would get any questions from some of the students about if she was related to the other Professor Romain, to which she would reply 'We're married.'

She tapped the board and the words:

'Professor Romain'

Appeared on the blackboard and she waited for the pupils to arrive, and if so much as one of them was one second late, she would have something to say to them. Something not very nice.

Alexis walkedinto the room only to discover, she was the first to come.
She had heard of Briony Romain of course, from her mother. She was a famous witch in her own right.
"Hello Professor" she greeted and took a seat in the second row.

Briony could feel a tick developing in the corner of her eye and she loomed out over her classroom with a furious gaze, her hands scrunched into fists and she got up from her chair with a loud scraping noise.

"Is this it?! Where are your classmates?!!"

Trying to keep her temper under control Briony looks at Alexis and smooths her face, it wasn't her fault her classmates were complete morons. Slamming the door closed she walked back over to her desk and sat on it.

"Right. Okay. Since it's just us today why don't you tell me what you want to do, I feel up for punching an innocent training bag right now."

"Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!" Alicia chanted, streaking into the classroom and then jerking to a stop a few feet away from Alexis and Briony. She'd gotten sidetracked coming out of the library, and before she knew it, it had been ten minutes, and she still had to get to the opposite side of the school.

Feeling that explaining her situation probably would have gotten her in more trouble than she was already in, she simply ducked her head and chewed her lip, feeling thoroughly sheepish.

Alexis resisted the urge to jump up when The Professor looked like she'd shout. She gave a small smile and said, 'We didn't have much muggle duelling professor. Would you mind telling me what it entails to learn muggle duelling?'

Briony looked at the girl who was late and she sighed she didn't feel like shouting at her however it was in the rules so she walked up to her with her arms folded and encircled the girl while saying:

"Did you not read the rules? You could be a target board right now. Since there's no class to practice on you I'm just glad you've shown up to be frank. Do not let it happen again."

Letting a quick smile dart across her features Briony gestures for her to take a seat while she went back to sitting on her desk, her feet resting on a chair in front of her.

"Of course I can, sounds like your teacher was a bit of an idiot if they didn't tell you that. Muggle duelling, for want of a better word, is the art of hitting people with things, you need to be able to draw blood."

Briony walked over to a covered up wall and removed the curtain showing alll the weapons behind it:

"I'll be teaching you weapon fighting, so swords, daggers, guns, bow and arrows, throwing stars but also hand to hand fighting, martial arts and street fighting which we were going to start today."

Alexis nodded as she lectured and leaned forward in anticipation.
Street fighting? Like they show in muggle movies? Wow.
