Lesson 4 (Second Years)

Nyx smiled fondly at the trembling plants that were scattered around the room. They had talked about the technical portion of mandrakes, now the students would be repotting the young plants for the final test grade.

She leaned against her desk and waited for the first student to arrive.

Iris entered the greenhouse with a light mood for the day and greeted Professor Palinder, "Good morning professor!" seeing that they'll be doing re-potting of the Mandrakes, she jumped up and down in excitement. "We'll re-pot Mandrakes! Yey!" She didn't care if all think she's childish at all. What's the point if someone is happy anyway?

Iris entered the class with a big grin on her face. Herbology was turning out to be one of her favourite lessons, after Flying of course. "Good day, Professor," she greeted. "Hey Eye!" She hugged her friend.

Alexis entered the Greenhouse and smiled, repotting Mandrakes today, finally.
"Morning Professor, Hey Eye, Iris."

Iris became more excited at the sight of her friends and her smile extended, "Oh hey guys! I'm excited for these babies." she said while pointing out at the Mandrakes and pots.

Anna entered the classroom, feeling only a bit more joyful. She loved Herbology to bits,but she was extremely upset when she didn't see Koehl around. She was somewhat bearable, not to mention good company. Sadly, she stared at the Mandrakes and wondered what she would do with them.

Nyx laughed at one of her students' joyful reaction. "Welcome back, ladies! Some of you have guessed, but for others who have no idea, we'll be repotting mandrakes today! I loath grading papers, so this is how any test you have from me is going to go. I prefer practical to written." She smiled sheepishly.

"So how is everybody?"

Tobi arrived to class to see mandrakes again. They must be doing something different this time. Taking his place he stood there quietly for class to begin.

"Everything's awesome professor! Can't wait to start!" Cheered Iris still.

Zayden popped into class, delighted that they would see mandrakes once more. The last time they did, she had a heck lot of fun thus, making her feel thrilled and all. "Hi-ya guys!.. Gosh, they don't know me yet... Oh well, I guess this is the best time to introduce myself. huh? . I don't remember ever introducing myself to you, so.. I'm Zayden by the way."


<Sigh> What am I thinking. It's been almost a year. I should have introduced myself sooner.

Iris smiled at the girl and replied to her politely, "Hey Zayden! Very nice to have you here. I'm Iris by the way. Call me Eye."

Zayden giggled, "Very nice to meet you Eye! Y'know what, you have the same name as Iris Grayson. Somehow, you also both have the same smile."

Iris giggled softly and whispered at Zayden, "Really? That's why we agreed to give ourselves nicknames, you know. Now we call her Grayson or Gryffindor Iris. I reckon she's my lost sister or maybe even a twin!"

"Well, you never can tell. Maybe, she really is. . .Hmm, I wonder if she thinks the same thing, too." Zayden responded gleefully.

Alexis turned to look at the girl talking to Eye. "Hello Zayden, I'm Alexis. We're epic in nicknames by the way. And mine is Sia, from my middle name Anastasia. You have a nice name." She smiled at her.

"Oh, Hey Alexis. . . Yes, I've noticed.", Zayden grinned, then she added, "Would it be okay if I do call you Sia?,, and as for my nickname, You can just call me, whatever you like since I'm really no good at giving nicknames."

Alexis grinned," Sure, call me Sia. As for you, the first thing coming to my mind is ZayKay. I don't know if you mind. My sense of humour doesn't seat well at times." she offered the a sheepish smile, Eye was embarrassed when she first called her Bright Eye.

"I don't mind at all.", Zayden beamed as she heard what Alexis have suggested.
