Lesson Four (First Years) Empty Lesson Four (First Years)

Post by Guest Wed Oct 19, 2011 6:49 pm

Cobalt yawned as he wandered into his classroom from his office, connected to the classroom at the back. Sighing a little, he sat himself down in his chair and idly looked around the room. It was a gloomy room already but he was about to make it gloomier. Flicking his wand, tall candle sticks flew out of his office to line the wall, the candles lighting quickly and silently. With another wave of his wand he closed all of the shutters so that the only light was from the candles along the edge of the wall.

This was going to be a fun lesson.

Valerie stood outside the doorway, looking in. "I see... one aura... Do we really want to be first again, Becky?" She sent her sister a worried look. Deciding not to put it off, she took a deep calming breath and opened the door. She bit her lip slightly before gathering what little courage she had (she was a Ravenclaw, not a Gryffindor) she smiled slightly at the (in her opinion, crazy) Professor.

"Hello Professor Smith." She said, before setting her stuff down on a desk and wondering whether or not she should sit down. The last lesson, anyone in a chair was dragged along with them...

Rebecca nodded. "If we put it off, then we would only grow more anxious with time." She followed Valerie in, and knew her sister would soon grab her hand, like she often did when the blond was afraid or nervous.

Instead of saying anything, she nodded to the man. Today's lesson would probably prove to be... interesting, to say the least.

Aquila slipped into the class wondering what psychodic lesson they would have today.

One thing he could say was this class was never dull.

He nodded his head at the twins who were the only two in the classroom - besides the professor, "Ladies."

Damian entered the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, a small smirk pulled at his lips as he noticed how the room was set up. Defense class was always interesting, if a bit unorthodox, at times.

"Hello, Professor," he greeted. He smiled at his classmates, noting that they hadn't taken seats, yet. Shrugging, he took his customary seat near the front of the classroom and eagerly waited for class to start.

Flora entered the class, God knows what we'll be doing today, she thought.
"Hello Professor" she greeted and took a seat beside Aquila. She waved at Damian and The Greenways.

    J. J shuffled into the room hoping she wasn't late. She had almost forgotten about the class, and was really really dread what would happen if she was indeed not on time.

Relieved that it looked she was going to be fine for now, she looked around the room, and then took a seat beside Damian trying to attract as little attention to herself as possible for the moment.

Damian looked up as J.J. sat beside him, then blinked rapidly as he belatedly recalled that his hair was still blue. Glancing at the professor, he bit his lip uncertainly. Professor Smith could be a bit unpredictable at the best of times, so it was hard to say how he would respond to a student having an unnatural hair color.

Oh, well, thought Damian. He figured, at worst, he'd be volunteered to be guinea pig and at best, the professor might be amused.

Cobalt was about to start the lesson when he noticed that Damian Gray had bright blue hair. That had deffinately not been there the last time he'd checked. He raised an eyebrow with a small smirk,

"Felt like showing your inner ravenclaw Mr Gray?" he teased the boy before shrugging a little, "Five points to Hufflepuff for daring I guess."

He stood in front of his desk, his lower body in heavy shadows as the light from the candles only really illuminated the desks and his upper body. Cobalt looked out over his class,

"The situation is this." he gestured at the dark room, "The situation is bleak. There are multiple opponents. They have weapons if they are muggles and wands if they are magicals. The night is blacker than any that you've known before. How do you use this to your advantage?"

A small grin pulled at Damian's lips in response to the professor's teasing. "Something like that, sir," he replied.

As the man spoke, Damian formed the picture in his mind. "Well... they wouldn't be able to see you, so if you could figure out a way to know where they are without tipping them off to your own location, you could take them out without as much of a struggle," he said.

Miles listened to the Hufflepuff boy's answer, he was quite impressed with his quick wit. Miles then raised his hand " Professor could you use the disillsionment charm, so that they would not be able to even see your silhouette, then disarm them with expelliarmus?" Miles anxiously waited for the professor to reply
