Lesson One- 1st years

Miles entered the classrom, very excited that he had got the History of Magic position this was his first year of teaching. He laid down his textbooks on the desk and quickly opened it to the chapter on the Hogwarts Founders and looked over the highlighted parts which he was going to teach in the lesson

Miles was determined to make sure his lessons were interesting, he had such a passion for the history of magic and really wanted to inspire and pass on that passion to his students

He then sat behind his desk and noticed a vase on the corner of the desk, he then pulled out his wand " Orchideous" a bunch of white lilly's soon appeared in the vase Miles smiled looking at how pretty they were

Happy, Excited, and a little lazy October walked into her second class of the day. History of Magic. Being muggleborn October wanted to learn as much as she could about the world she had joined.

Walking into the the classroom with a smile, she turned to her professor, who was at his desk, "Good morning Professor."

Turning to the desk she found herself being the first one there, she sat down at the desk all the way up in the front.

Miles looked up and noticed his first studenmt walk in, he was quite surprized, the girl greeted him and Miles smiled back

" Hello, nice to see you could make" Miles then glanced down at his watched then looked over the door it didnt seem like anymore students would be coming

October looked around the classroom waiting for more students to come. When there was less than a minuet till class started October looked at her teacher.

"Professor, I don't think that any more students will be arriving."

The girl stated that there probably would be any more students, Miles nodded " Yes I'd say your quite right" he replied

Miles then waved his wand over the chalk and it wrote " Hogwarts Founders" on the board Miles then turned and smiled at the girl " So can you tell me the names of the four founders of Hogwarts Miss.."

Miles paused realizing he didn't know her name, " Sorry what was your name, Im Professor Bloxam by the way" Miles then looked at the girl with a warm smile waiting for her name

October smiled when she saw the topic that was being written on the board. She had read a lot about the Founders of Hogwarts.

"October Hearthswood." She said, when Professor Blomax asked October her name. "And the four founders of Hogwarts were Godric Gryffindor, Helena Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin."

Miles smiled as October introduced herself " Nice to meet you Miss Hearthswood" Miles then leaned against his desk as October answered the question

" Yes thats absoulutely correct" Miles flicked his wand at the chalk and it wrote the founders of Hogwarts on the board

" Now these four founders established Hogwarts as a haven for young witches and wizards, as for at the time many wizards and witches were being killed by muggles" Miles then paused the looked at October

" So October can you tell me what methods the muggles used to torture and kill those found to be a wizard or witch?"

October thought about the question she was just asked. 'I remember what happened in Salem.' She thought.

"Well, I don't exactly know what happened in other places. But I remember that in America, Salem, Massachusetts to be exact, that they would hang you in front of the entire town if they found out you were a witch." She answered.

Miles nodded at October " Yes thats correct thats one thing they use to do them, they also used method such as burning at the stake as well as drownings"

Miles then gave his wand a flick then a bag of chocolate frogs appeared on his desk " So October can you tell me the birth place of each of the four founders, there will be a reward if you get them all of course" Miles said as he gestured towards the bag of chocolate frogs

October listened carefully taking down notes, on the additional information.

She looked back up when she heard Professor Blomax ask her another question. 'Where were they born?'

"Sadly Professor I don't know the answer to that question." She said.

October didn't know the answer to the question, Miles gave a small smile," Oh well thats alright, well brave Gryffindor was from Wild Moore, fair Ravneclaw from Qwen, sweet Hufflepuff from Valley Broad and shrewd Slytherin from Fen"

Miles then glanced over at the bag of chocolate frogs then looked back up at October " Well you might be able to win these later in the lesson" Miles said with a grin

She was little late due to her parent going at once again she lay piece of paper on his desk. She took a seat on desk it was note from home explaining her reason for being late. But also it had to deal with other things.

October was getting a new ink bottle when she saw a girl enter the classroom. She was a Ravenclaw, October watch her put a note on the teacher's desk and wait patiently.

Miles noticed another student walk into the classrom, she placed a note on his desk then found a seat. Miles picked up the note slowly and began quickly reading it, he then folded the note back up and placed it back down on his desk and looked over at the girl and smiled

" Thank you Miss Destler, your lateness is excused" Miles then paused for a moment while he gathered his thoughts together again " Now these four founders were considered to be the most brilliant witches and wizards of their time, So as you know each house at hogwarts has certain traits which get you placed into that house"

Miles then looked over at his two students " So Miss Hearthswood, if you had have been alive during the time of founders, Godric Gryffindor would have seen that you were brave and honest and therefore would be pleased to teach you"

Miles then looked over at Nocturna " And Miss Destler Rowena Ravenclaw would have seen how brains and love of learning and being a rather intelliegent witch herself would have chosen to teach you"

Miles then waved his wand over the chalk as it began writing the traits of the four house on the board " So Hufflepuff valued loyalty and hard work, while Slytherin favoured those who were cunning and ambitious" Miles looked over his shoulder to ensure the chalk had written down the notes correctly, he then faced his class " Could you just copy those notes down and let me know when your done thank you" Miles said to his class

Nocturna were not nice and they were often fighting and she got them to drop her off and to write a note. Her father who was muggle doing the fighting thing and they where better off a part she hope he would understand after all they took time composed a note for him. Oh good she did not go into graphic detail about the whole thing what her muggle father was crazy. That her father want the magic to stopped that came out of her and though it personally detail such as that.

Then at least the Gryffindor some what and she figure that there symbol is a lion and she write something she wrote Godric Gryffindor is one founder would honest and brave. She had brain sure she did and some what smart all the same and she look down and Rowena ravenclaw would liked her because she intelligent but she went.

Then she wrote out what he was writing on the chalk board. Hulfpuff value loyalty and hard work.Slytherin favored those cunning and ambitious. She start to copy all of it down she date this notes. She wonder when they would be doing quiz and she would write the date down and such things. At least he could not read her thoughts and such things and what not as she look up and she look up at him ready to copy more if he wrote more on board or said more on the board.

October watched as the girl sat down at a desk, she watched her for a few seconds.

'She's hiding something.' October thought.

October looked back at Professor Blomax and saw he wrote some notes on the board. She quickly copied them in to her notebook and went back to sketching the Hogwarts castle she started in her notebook.
