Midnight Drink (Open)

Rowen dissolved into laughter at J.J's giggles.

"Yes I'm aware of how you are with pasta, Chrys," she said looking up.

Crystal already had gone back to reading her book. She turned back to J.J with a smile on her face.

"So you and the first year huh?" she said, eyebrows waggling.

"I'm just kidding! He's sweet though, for a Slytherin," Rowen said with an honest smile.

At least he's a first year and not an annoying Gryffindor third year.

The Gryffindor Common Room was the most boring place in the world. For a house renowned for its tricksters, it seemed that Savannah was the best they had, and she couldn't help but find that sad. Grabbing her cloak, she headed downstairs, not really sure where exactly she was going until she found herself standing outside the kitchen door.

Grinning, she entered the room. Smiling weakly at all the people there, she grinned as she recognized one person. "Hello JJ! It's good to see you again."

Rowen looked up from her daydream about Sebastian to see someone walk in. As she sat down, Rowen stretched her hand across the table.

"Hi! I'm Rowen. Rowen Huff. I'm a first year Hufflepuff," she said with a bright smile on her face.

J. J. nodded, "Yep, me and a ickle firstie."

She laughed and smiled at the kind words, "Thanks, he can be a little ... rough around the edges at times, but I think he has a good heart in there somewhere." He's at least nice to me she added.

"Hey Savannah," she smiled as the girl walked in.

"So for all your teasing me Ro, do you got yourself a guy?"

Smiling politely at Rowen, she shook her hand, "I'm Savannah. First year Gryffindor." Grinning at JJ, she turned back to Rowen, "Guys? Well, this conversation shall be interesting."

"No-well-Yes-well....ugh I don't know," Rowen said exasperatingly.

"We argue all the time but then there are moments when he's this amazing guy. I honestly don't know what to think," she sighed with a slight shrug of her shoulders.

"We aren't dating. I mean he's two years older than me and half the time I don't even know if he truly likes me."

She looked up to see everyone looking at her.

"See not even being around him, he still manages to crawl under my skin!" she exclaimed to the humor of everyone in the room.

Looking at the exasperated expression on Rowen's face as she spoke, Savannah couldn't help but smile. Having absolutely no experience with guys, she decided to stay quiet, for nothing she said would be substantial to the conversation.

Glancing at the house elves, she asked kindly for a mug of hot chocolate. She wasn't being kind out of the goodness of her heart; it was more that she was surrounded by people and didn't feel like making a bad first immpresion around them. Taking the mug with a smile and a thank you, she looked back at Ro over her mug, snorting good-naturally, "Then I guess you have to get farther away from him."

Rowen rolled her eyes in mock annoyance.

"Believe me. I've tried," she said with a small smile.

She turned towards Savannah with an eyebrow raised.

"What about you Ms. Quiet?"

"What I don't know about boys would fill a book the size of War and Peace," J. J. smiled, "But.. I would like to say... if you think that... maybe theres a chance, I'd say go for it."

She turned and smiled as Rowan turned the interigation onto Savannah.

"Me?" Savannah couldn't was surprised by her question, blinking rapidly.

Getting over the initial shock, she shrugged, "I haven't really talked to any guys all year. Well, there is a guy in my flying class, - Dimitri? - something like that. He seems nice enough." Remembering her distrust of Aldan Chaos, she added, "I wouldn't mind getting to know Aldan better though."

J. J. perked up slightly at the meantion of Dimitri.

"Dimitiri Clay Reinhardt," she answered automatically correcting the something like that comment, and then blushing again, "At least... you know... I know someone by that name, but you know, Dimitri.. common name and .. yeah."

"Chaos? Related to the headmaster?"

"Dimitri? Aldan?" Rowen asked thoroughly confused.

"Wait! Isn't Aldan related to the Headmaster," repeating J.J's question.

She turned towards Savannah very interested now.

Nodding slowly, Savannah glanced down at the mug in her hands for a moment before answering, "Yep, he's the brother of the headmaster."

Glancing at JJ, she smiled slightly at correction, "You seem to know this Dimitri guy well."

Rowen raised her eyebrows. She was very interested in these girls now. She turned towards J.J with a mischievious smile on her face.

"Ooohh who's Dimitri?" she asked, waggling her eyebrows.

Pixie was still off in her own world. She moved on from thinking about her brothers to thinking about her next prank. She knew this one would be good. She looked up and noticed a new girl in the kitchen, Savannah a fellow Gryffindor.

Now, Pixie had seen her around but never had the chance to talk to her, being with Rowen and Crystal all the time. "Hello, Savannah right? Sorry I haven't had the time to say hello. I'm Alexandra Fawkes but everyone calls me Pixie or Pix. I'm usually the one causing the pranks around the First years."

Pixie held out her hand to shake and smiled mischievously. "Oh no worries, by the way, I won't bit."

J. J. couldn't imagine being related to the headmaster... it seemed an odd thing... but really the headmaster was just a person too.


She flushed as every picked up her mis-step with Dimitri. She shrugged and tried to pass off Savannah's question. "I know him a little. I mean, we talk sometimes... and its, you know quite the name. Fun to say."

She cleared hre through awkwardly and then gave a little laugh.

"He's you know.. a boy," she said to Ro.

"The name is fun to say." Savannah echoed, smirking at JJ. "If you say so." Leaning closer to JJ, she asked, "Now, was he the guy you guys were talking about when I came in?"

Looking over at the short haired Gryffindor who she vaguely recognized from the common room, she smiled, shaking her hand across the table, "Yep, I would be Savannah. It's fine that you haven't had time to talk to me. All this school is enough to keep anyone busy."

Shrugging, she raised an eyebrow, "So you're the prankster, eh? If you ever need help, find me," she finished, pointing to herself.

Rowen rolled her eyes. Oh Merlin! Not another prankster. She smiled to herself. She liked to play the unwilling participant. Secretly, she just likes to be involved in Pixie's pranks.

"Oooh! I sense someone likes this Dimitri...A LOT!" she said sticking her tongue out at J.J.

"Haha, Ro. You now you love my pranks. Now, who is this Dimitri we are talking about?" Pixie asked. "Would it be the Arsic's brother Dimi we're talking about?"

Pixie wouldn't admit it but she like to prod in people's love lives. It was fascinating to invade and prod at people and see how they think and react during certain things.

"So Savvy likes Dimi?" Pixie questioned.

Crystal was reading through out this whole conversation. Then when the new Gryiffindor came in she looked up slightly then returned to reading. She was quite the reader but also she wanted to keep the boy subject away from her. She knew Pixx and Ro would taunt her to no end about it.

Pixie also knew that she would either get stuff out of Savvy or Crys. She just had to play her cards right.

"Hey Crys! What about that one boy. Oh, I'm not done with you Savvy. I'm just giving Ro and JJ time to interragate you. Crys-Crys what about your boy?" Pixie asked.

She started to poke Crystal and bug her until she put her book down.

Crystal looked up from her book slightly "You know about my boyfriend thank you. I swear you can read my mind Pixx." she said with a smile and turned back to her book.

Rowen switched between the two conversations before deciding to focus on Savannah and J.J.

"So Savvy," Rowen said, using Pixie's nickname, "while J.J contemplates if she's in love with J.J, what about you and Aldan?"

Despite how she was acting, Rowen wasn't a gossip. She did like to talk, though; A LOT!

Looking from Ro to Pixie, she shrugged slightly, the lightest of all blushes noticeable on her cheeks. Staring down at her mug, Savannah coughed, embarrassed, "Well, you see, I've never actually talking to him. I just saw him. That one time."

Squirming in her seat, she smiled nervously, drinking her hot chocolate. What was she doing? Savannah never got nervous, but here she was squirming in front of strangers. She couldn't help but feel very prat-like at this moment.

She smiled at Savannah.

"Don't feel awkward. I'm only messing with you and I personally think you two would be a cute couple," she said with an encouraging smile.
