Lesson Two - Second Years. Empty Lesson Two - Second Years.

Post by Andria Fallen Tue Jan 10, 2012 10:22 am

The lady was sitting on the table, scribbling some notes with regards to the next lesson she had in mind. She changed most of the plans after some mistake of hers and decided to have another go with the safety measures of some spells that are more, likely to say, appropriate for these second year student of hers.

With that undying exciting mood hers, Andria continued to write and waited patiently for the students to arrive. This batch again is more of the fun one. And she can't wait to start to admire them once more.

Jamie walked into one of her favorite classes and saw she was the only one there. "Hello Professor" Jamie smiled and took a seat. Jamie noticed that she was writing something and went into her bag and got her book out.

"Professor, Jamie," Quil nodded formally barely surpressing a smirk as he strolled into the classroom.

He flopped into his seat and lazily leaned back resting his feet on the table.

    "Lovely day isn't it?"

Alex walked into Professor Fallen's room and took a seat in front of Jamie. "Good day professor, Aquila" Alex gave a smile then turned to Jamie. "Hello" Alex greeted her friend.

Andria gazed at her small circle of second years and smiled at them. Knowing that they're the only ones who would mind taking up the subject, she decided to go over with the introductions of today's lesson.

The lady walked across the room, the usual thing, and began to speak in her gentle voice,

"It's great pleasure to meet you all again. And it is a lovely day for the start of the lesson. Now, who could tell me what would happen if a castor conjured the Impedimenta spell? Either in an object standing his way, or towards an opponent?"

Jamie raised her hand. "What happens is tripping, freezing, binding, knocking back and generally impeding the target's progress towards the caster" Jamie said not knowing if she got it right or not so she just waited.

"Ten points for Slytherin. Correct, Miss Malfoy." Andria replied kindly and continued on with the first-hand discussion,

"And those are the things that the spell can do. It has many advantages to dueling of course. And we're here to learn about them. Either shield away or move on."

The lady tapped her wand on her palm repeatedly, getting more and more anxious to see what her students' abilities can do. She had high hopes for this young year.

"And now, we will have a head start of practice." Andria said and transfigured the front desk into a huge and hard stone where the students would be able to test the spell. It would be a tough one to make the stone break.

She gazed at the crowd and smiled gently when she decided on who will go first and give the activity a nice try. She cleared her throat and spoke with confidence and some encouragement,

"I think you all know what to do. Make it or break it and excel to the next process. Shall we? First one up! My dear Alexis. Good luck. Remember, strong will and determination will gain success. Believe in yourself that you can do it."

Emily woke up lying on the floor of the Slytherin girls dorm, with three of her friends which all sneaked in fire whiskey and had a big drink up the night before, Emilys head was pounding, she had only been drunk twice but this was the worst hangover, she slid her body from underneath Elise who was lying across her stomach and got dressed

As she stumbled out of the Dungeons she pulled out her timetable and saw she had duelling first up, Emily let loud a loud groan hoping she would have had Muggle Studies so she could zone out

Emily arrived at the Dueling classroom and psuhed through the door, it looked like class had already started, Emily gave a weak hello to the Professor before placing her herself in the back row, propping her head up with her hand, Emily felt so out of it

Casey ran through the hallways frantically, knowing she was already late and this was not the first impression she wanted to make. She slipped into the classroom and saw a girl pointing her wand at a large rock. Sliding over next to the professor, she explained in a whisper, "Sorry I'm late. I'm Casey Donohoe, a transfer student from America."

Andria welcomed the newcomers with her gentle smile and greeted them with a whisper, "Pleasure to meet you all. You're just in time. Professor Fallen." and nodded towards Alex, who seemed to be in tight with her fixed position that she hadn't proceeded with the activity yet, to signal her to do the task.

She gave a sympathetic look and reassured the girl if ever she may have second-guesses, "Nothing to worry about, lass. Everything will be all right. Just try your very best and poke a hole into that rock. I will of course reward points for all of you."

Alex took a deep breath and got up. Alex walked in front of the desk and held out her wand. "Impedimenta" Alex said but nothing happened. Alex sighed and tried again. "Impedimenta" Alex said a little more forceful. Which seemed to work because the rock cracked a little.

Andria watched the young Slytherin try her hardest. She smiled approvingly, satisfied with the result and decided to settle some words to strengthen the girl in the next try. All the lady wanted was to help her students and make them strong. She spoke encouragingly, hoping that the girl would do more than she was expected,

"Feel the power, Miss Gilbert. You need not to force yourself. Just let it all out. Yell if you want to, and redeem success. Be proud of yourself. Imagine you're in a real Duel."

Juniper figured she might as well get this over with. She walked up to the giant rock and stared at it for a little while, letting the silence fill her with energy.

Then, she shouted, "Impedimenta!" A crack appeared in the rock.

She went back to her seat, satisfied.

Casey stood up to take her turn. "impedimentia!" At first, only a little dust ground off, but on her third try a reasonable sized crack appeared and she smiled at her accomplishment, making a mental note to practise the spell again later.

Andria looked over on her watch and shook her head in sheer disappointment that classes would be nearing their end. She sighed after some while and turned to her students again, clearing her throat for some short announcements,

"Ah, good riddance. I think time flew way too fast this time. Anyways, I am indeed pleased that all of you did an extraordinary job for the activity. And for the meantime, I'd recommend that you still practice on your own or with another friend." the lady said with a soft smile on her lips and continued with her last word of dismissal,

"Off you go now, darlings! Better be early for your next lesson. See you sooner."
