Lesson Two - 2nd Years

Marietta stood at the edge of the Forest looking up at a tree which had a Clabbert sitting high up on one of the branches, Marietta put one hand on her hip and called out to the creature " Come on mr don't be shy, come down" the Clabbert still didn't move but only croaked at her

Marietta then pulled a small plastic bag out of her satchal which contained slices of rotting banana, she opened the bag and grabbed a slice holding it up to the Clabbert, the creatures eyes widned then it quickly climbed down the tree and stood in front of Marietta slightly tugging on the hem of her skirt

Marietta gave the slice to the Clabbert then picked up and held its moist frog like hand " If you behave yourself i'll give you some more later" she said to the creature, as she walked hand in hand with the Clabbert to the open field where she would be teaching her second years. Marietta then stood there stroking the Clabbert as she waited for the students to arrive

Aquila walked out to Care of Magical Creatures. In all honest this was probably one of the worst classes a boy of his nature should take. He had a feeling that there was a wide amount of trouble possible with these lessons.

And that excited him to no end.

"Hello Professor," he smiled and the woman, and then looked at the creature beside it, "And hello to you too."

Henri walked slowly to Care of Magical Creatures. Not because she was lazy and didn't want to go to class, but because she had left the common room in enough time to take as long as she wanted to the grounds.

When she arrived, she noticed that there was only one other student there besides her self.

A Ravenclaw, she thought to herself before walking towards the Professor. She had to introduce herself. After all, her parents had done the dumb mistake of trying to home school her for her first year and a half instead of registering her at Hogwarts.

"Henri Edwards, Professor," she said politely and then looked at the animal with her with a grin. "Mr. Clabbert." She wasn't sure if it was a male or female but she enjoying giving names that started with "Mr." to animals and inanimate objects.

She then walked back to where the other student was and gave him a polite nod. "Henri," she introduced as she extended her arm for a handshake.

Two students entered the field, they both greeted her warmly. Marietta partically liked how loving they were towards the Clabbert, she knew then that she would have a good class to work with. She smiled at the two students " Hello and welcome, im Professor Edgecomb"

Marietta then pulled out a folded piece of paper it was the class list, see looked over the names and saw they were only missing one person. She looked up at the two students " You two wouldn't know where a boy called Seth Foryste is would u?"

Being her first day on the job she didn't even know what house he would be in

"Sorry Professor, I don't," Henri responded and shrugged her shoulders. She wondered what they were going to learn with Mr. Clabbert though and she sort of hoped that she could carry him.

Aquila took the girls hand and shook it, "Aquila... though if were shorting names we can just go with Quil."

The boy straightened a bit at the sound of Tobi's brother. He didn't know the boy well, but..

"Seth has been away for a while," he said simply, "I do not believe he will be making it this class either."

Aquila informed Marietta that Seth would not be going the class, " Ah i see, well thank you Mr Turrow, I guess we can start now" Marietta looked over at the Clabbert and stoked it head

"So guys this is a Clabbert, as you can see it resembles a cross between a money and a frog" a warm smiled appeared on Marietta's face " But isn't he just so beatiful. Now Clabberts often lack Vitimin K in their diet and this vitimin helps strenghten their immune system and clears their livers"

Marietta glanced over towards the Clabbert noticing it was listening intentenly, " Now Vitimin K is found heavily in mint leaves, but firstly you must always check the glands of the Clabbert if they feel abit swollen that means they are in desperate need of Vitimin K, if they aren't swollen then they are fine"

Marietta looked at her students with a smile " I want you guys to tell me if this Clabbert is in need of Vitimin K, so who wants to go first?" Marietta knew this Clabbert had swollen glands but felt it best for her students to get a hands on approach at learning

Henri raised her hand and approached the professor with the Clabbert. She inspected the animal and found that it's glads where swollen.

"They're swollen, professor," she said as she patted the animal in the head.

Marietta smiled at Henri as she told her that the Clabberts glands were swollen, " Excellent Miss Edwards 10 points to Gryffindor"

Marietta then reached into her bag and pulled out a small bowl with half a banana in it and a bag of mint leaves she handed to Henri " Ok Miss Edwards heres a spoon and a bowl I want you to ripped up the mint leaves and mush it in with the banana to make a kind of paste"

Marietta then gave a small chuckle " You see, he won't just eat raw mint leaves you have to be abit tricky"
