Morning Glory

Afonka stared at Faye for the longest time, his mouth opening and closing. He had not the slightest clue what to say to her. Well, no that was a lie. He knew what he should say. He should be consoling her, telling her that she wouldn't die, but the exact words were stuck in his throat.

Swallowing hard, he opened his mouth again, finally getting something out, "I - I'm sorry." Nodding in confirmation, he moved towards the blonde, pulling her into a hug.

Faye swallowed hard, and despite herself allowed the boy to pull her into a hug. She hardly knew him, but... the closeness was comforting.

"Don't be," she whispered shaking her head. "I'm sorry I told you; it is no ones burden to bare but my own."

"That's not true," Afonka said, shaking his head, which he rested on the top of hers, "The people who care about you - well, it's their burden to, because they're going to be there with you." Pulling away, he nodded, looking at the blonde, "I don't think you'll die."

Faye shook her head, "But they shouldn't have to; its not fair of me to ask them to be all... sad, or-or-or stuff when its me who is sick. Look at you. I've already dragged you into this and I hardly know you. I'm sorry."

She sniffed slightly, an aware until that moment she had been close to crying, "Thank you."

"But," Afonka's brow creased as he frowned, "You didn't ask them to be sad. They're going to be sad because they care about you, and they don't want anything bad to happen to you."

Shaking his head, he fixated her with his brown eyes, "You don't have to apologize. I'm the one who asked." Shrugging, he smiled, "You're welcome."

Faye smiled slightly and shook her head, "But I care about them and do not wish them to be sad."

She gave a little laugh.

"Its an aweful little ciricle isn't it?"

"I guess it is." Afonka nodded sadly, "But they're friends, and they're going to be sad because they care about you, regardless."

Faye gave a half smile, pulling her bag higher up on her shoulder.

"Well, either way, if I keep standing here I'll be late for class," she held out her hand. "It was nice to meet you Afonka, again I'm sorry for... that... and I hope to see you again soon."

"Yeah, I'll be late too." But being late for Standard Spells and not having to see Feliks didn't sound that bad. Shaking his head softly, he smiled at Faye, shaking his hand, "It was great meeting you; and don't apologize. I mean, I asked, all you did was answer."

Shrugging, he grinned at her, nodding, "We'll see each other again. I'm sure of it."
