"I wonder who it is you like," Camille teased, "And, seriously? Dating gets boring after a while. I tire easily."

She shut up as soon as the professor walked in, startled as the door was slammed shut. Getiing up from the floor, the girl raised an eyebrow when he told Quinn to 'pretend to be a wholesome young lady', as he looked to be the kind of man who would just as well let a woman sit on his lap.

Camille wondered, briefly, if she would have yet another crazy teacher. Beauxbatons was also full of those, these days.

Quinn just looked at Camille and gave her a death glare. She jumped when the door slammed shut. Quinn stood next to Camille and gave her a look. Damn this was going to kill Quinn and she knew it. Quinn just wished she could at least get one normal teacher.

Adam walked into the classroom a little freaked out by this teacher. Adam didn't show it. "Sorry professor" Adam said as he walked in and stood where the other kids were. Man this class was going to be entertaining Adam thought.

Quinn was waiting to hear what the professor would say when the door opened and in came a new boy. Quinn heard him apologize to the professor. Only knowing this professor for a couple of minutes, Quinn knew that this professor wasn't going to be happy about him coming in late.

Emelie mentally rolled her eyes. She got up off the floor, anyway, not wanting to create a fuss.

Her eyes quickly went to the newcomer, and Emelie almost burst out laughing at what the professor would think of that.

Mismatched eyes snapped to the door as another student came in and apologized. Basil quirked an eyebrow as he responded to the boy. "It happens, of course, Mr. Jacobs. However, you will find it quite beneficial in the future to be in this classroom before I am." Producing a pair of drumsticks from behind his back he twirled one in each hand, a look of thoughtfulness in his eyes as he watched the boy take his place with his classmates.

Recalling what was on the lesson plan for the day, the rocker stopped twirling the stick in his right hand and beckoned to a medium sized, wooden box sitting atop the bookshelf. It floated over to him and using his right drumstick rather like a conductor's baton, Basil magicked one of the instruments out of the box to hover above it. "However, even though I shall not take housepoints or give you a detention, Mr.Jacobs, you have found yourself the lucky first recipient of your classes new project."

"As an introduction to woodwinds you shall each recieve one of these wooden recorders. These are yours to keep and yes, you are expected to learn about and play them. It is not an option in this class. Mr. Jacobs, you may come and get yours and for being late you get the honours of having to learn the most difficult of the peices I will be giving out to be learned and memorized by the end of the year." Halting the left hand twirling stick, Basil pointed it at the boy and beckoned with it. "Up you come, boy."

Adam nodded his head and walked up to the front of the room. He took the instrument from the professor's hand and looked at it. "How do you play this" Adam looked at it. He knew how to play instruments but never had he heard of this, let alone play it.

wooden recorders. Tobias dad had one of these in his music room. He had learned how to play it of course, but he wasn't that bothered about them. He looked at what the Professor was wearing. Tobias smirked and looked at the wooden recordersagain.

Camille looked at the door when another boy came through it smirked when the professor told him he'd be the first one to try the instrument.

Recorders. Camille recalled her grandfather playing one of those and teaching her a song or two, but that was when she was a little girl. She didn't think she remembered how to play them.

Basil could feel a massive headache coming on. These children were thirteen, for Merlin's sake. How is it that they didn't know how to play a simple woodwind. He was sure there was at least one person in the room that could play a more complicated instrument.

Replacing his drumsticks back into their holster in the small of his back the rocker took a recorder from the box and brought it to his lips, placing his fingers over the holes gracefully. With a small moments hesitation as he got the music straight in his head Basil blew into the instrument gently, the sweet strains of one of Bach's minuets in Gmajor flowing from the recorder. As he played he used his magic to float a recorder to each of the other students.

He finished and turned his mismatched gaze on each of his students. "That is how a recorder can be played. Because of it's range it can play the majority of songs out there. From classical to pop culture. Now each of you will learn the basics of the instrument today. You will, at the end of class, receive a workbook in order to introduce notes and rhythms and expand your range on the instrument. You will also be given a peice of music of my choosing, to be memorized and able to be played by the end of the year."

(OOC: I do not appreciate one liners in my class, not to mention that they are against the rules. Your posts should all be three to four lines at a minimum in order to express what your character is feeling and thinking.)

"What happens if you already know how to play a Recorder professor?" Tobias asked.
